What about MDA & SDA?
Can they be firmware upgraded to support UMA since they have built in wi-fi?
There's a "rumor" that they will release an update for their current WiFi enabled handsets to be compatible including the MDA, SDA and the new DASH. 😉 I think it'd be stupid for them not to as they sold plenty of those devices including two MDA...

Atleast they are making progress
Looks like they are launching in their hometown first, which is understandable. The $50 price for the phones aren't bad, with a 2 year contract. They didn't even put it on their website yet. $20 for the feature, plus a free wireless router is good. I wonder if they mean u can use the service anywhere there is a wireless router around.
I was wondering the same thing. I have no signal at work but full wifi throughout. Time will tell.
they are growing very nicely with getting new spectrum, and offering new services. Now they need to expand their footprint quickly! If they do, they will be a threat and the top 3 big boys have got to watch out. (Especially Verizon)

Love the idea of using my home router for better reception. Hate the idea of paying an extra $20 a month for the privilege.
Doesn't your landline cost more than $20.00 a month with taxes?
The $20 gives you unlimited minutes while on a wi-fi.... definitely not greedy

Bitbucket.... the $20 is only if you PLAN on using (and will want to typically use) the Tmobile hotspots found in coffee houses, airports and so on. Otherwise, any free or currently open and available hotspot will work. Beta'd this months ago - works ...

From what I hear, the $20.00 a month not only makes it so you can use ANY WiFi AP, not just T-Mobile's, for your signal strength but while using UMA, it's not using the sites so the usage won't go against your Whenever Minutes. So basically unlimited minutes while @ home or on a hot-spot. 😁

It will work with any wireless router, some of them may drain your battery though, but not much. It is excellent.

Seattle's test run but it will probably be the price for the nationwide launch.
