Should i get this phone when my 3rd LG Dare freezes up??

I honestly love the LG Dare's but they just aren't living up to their price.

This is my 3rd one in 5 months and i think it's time 2 move on.(I know this 3rd one is going 2 go downhill also.)

I want this phone but the guy @ verizon said " oh no, you dont want that one... trust me, you dont."

I guess NC just has terrible phones..or I have bad luck.

I really wanna know if this phone is going 2 freeze up on me like my other 2 LG Dares.

Strange problem I have been encountering

Every once in a while, I get this problem where the phone's ringer won't ring. Instead I hear nothing, or I hear the background from the other person's phone. It's quite irritating, as I only seem to get this once in a while. The problem is, the only fix I can find for it, is doing a hard reset. I really don't like doing hard resets. Does anyone know any other way around this?
did you upgrade to 6.1?

xv6900 question

Is it true that this smartphone doesnt require a smartphone data pkg. Also will it work with my current connect plan. Thanks. If all true what benefits will I find with this smartphone compared to dumbphones.
unfortunately no, but then why would you have this phone and not use it for the what it is meant to be used for... if you don't want to pay the data pkg then go with a "dumb" phone. 😲

XV600 and missing calls

I am not sure if others are having this problem, but I was told it is known to verizon but there is no update yet.

When my phones backlight is not on, my phone will not ring or get text messages.

When i turn the phone on, all the missed calls come in at once.

Is there an upgrade somewhere that will work with the Verizon phone? I know sprint just released one.

Also will that upgrade fix this problem?
Running Windows Mobile Professional 6 currently

Thank you
I was thinking of picking up this phone, since it is one of the few pda phones Vz offers without data plan. I hesitate because of the reviews I've been reading on this site. I was wondering the same things you had mentioned. I hope someone responds. I...

txtng with no keys?!?!

I am really interested in getting this phn, but am super hesitant becuase of the lack of keys. How is txting on it? I text a ton and would need something that isn't going to give me a headache.

If you could just let me know how the txting is or what it looks like (full qwerty key pad...?) that'd be great! thnx
it would be great if u read the forums, they already explained all this... Dont mean to be rude but they explained this plus more like where u can get different style keyboards and etc...
I would not get this phone if you are a huge texter. THere are a few keyboards you can buy and download that help out but nothing beats a physical keyboard if you are a huge texter
...
I do not see where on earth you could go wrong with the Spb Full screen keyboard ??!! That keyboard for $10 was the main reason why i stayed with this phone as i now type faster than Mogul/Rumor/755p/Curve owners.

This keyboard realigns as well whe...

ringtones

i have the touch through verizion and i can't get a ringtone on my phone, i tried the free ones and the ones from verzion but it says my phone dosn't support it, anyone else having problems or know how to get them?
nope
If you have a music file, click on it, then on "set as ringtone", and it'll do it. Even though Verizon cripples most of their phones, they don't let ya do that.

Perks of this phone.

Sprint RV and 3Gforfree.com work on this phone. That's cool, since 3Gforfree.com normally doesn't work on Windows Mobile devices.

Hi. I just got my xv6900. Where did you get the 6.1 upgrade. I am trying like crazy to get "voice command 1.6" to work on this and i think its needs 6.1 to work.

Thanks.

Sprint Touch/WM 6.1/Goodlink

Does anyone know if Goodlink will work with the Sprint HTC Touch after the Window Mobile 6.1 upgrade? I'm finding some strange issues online but nothing referencing the Sprint Touch specifically. If it doesn't, does anyone have any other options/suggestions (even if it is a pay service)? Active Sync is not supported.

Thanks

Help with Sprint GPS???

Hey all...
I recently upgraded to Windows 6.1, and it seemed to cure alot of the problems that i was having with my touch... except for one.

When I use Sprint Navagation, for driving directions, it will tell me that i have a weak GPS signal after sitting stale for about 3 minutes... it tElls me to move to an unobstructed area, or check my settings (which, I wouldn't know if they were bad in the first place.)

can anyone who's Sprint GPS is working post the default settings so I can check mine or post any helps/ hints?

Thanks in advance.

Problems Syncing???

hey all...

i recently tried to install the software that came with my touch... the users manual installed fine on the first attempt, but the device center hung at 99% complete install like 5 times.

i'm running vista, and now it seems to be installed somehow, but every time i connect my touch, it isn't recognizing that it's there, and winds tries to install generic drivers for it.

is there something i'm missing or is there a trick to making the phone visible to the p.c.? all i really need to do is sync with my computer to transfer mobile software. any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

Hey there W,

I've experienced something very similiar regarding the 6900 not responding when I connect the cable from the USB to the phone. While connected, open the application "Active Sync". This should fix the issue.
