Does anyone think that this announcement coupled with Verizon's previous announcement about opening up access to third party devices means that Verizon is going to get out of the business of selling phones? In other words, it's going to be like wired service where you buy any phone you want from anywhere and just purchase service from the company.
In the long run, it could be a big money saver since they wouldn't have to bother with servicing devices, waranty coverage, etc.
