Video Tour: LG enV Touch

I just learned that v10 is available "over the air" and I successfully installed it on my phone. Folks at the env Touch forum are saying you need v9 on the phone before the upgrade will be offered. No official change-log available AFAICT.

I just got this phone and the only way I have found to read a document is by using the memory card. Does anyone else know a way to be able to read one? I plugged the phone in and transferred a doc file, but I don't know how to read it. When I go to the document reader section it says it can read from the card. Anyone know a different way.

I think this might be posted somewhere else on the board. But V09 is now available. The only difference I can notice is the web browser is completely different, but what a difference! The new browser makes surfing the web on the phone a MUCH better experience. It also seems a bit faster to me. It is worth your time to get the update if you use the internet at all on the phone.

There is a new update out and it would be version vx11kv08. The only thing I see that changed would be the browser and thats big in my book. It now uses the Polaris Browser 7.0, and if you use the internet at all you will love it. It now has like a HTC key board that pops up on the lower half of the screen to type in. You can get this update at your local verizon store they should have it in.

Sometimes when I have my phone charging or just there the backlight (from the touchscreen side) will appear and it will be completely white, not even displaying my background picture. This happened with a previous phone and I had contacted them about this issue and they sent me a new phone. This phone has done that at least once or twice. One time as my fiancee was texting from my phone (from the QWERTY side) the screen flashed black and when the back-light turned on again the white parts to the screen were black and the letters that were suppose to be black were white. It was odd. I turned off my phone and removed the battery for a minute or so and turned it back on and it was fine. Has anyone had this problem?

Version 5 of VZ Navigator is completely different and very cool. I like it much better.

Go to Media Center, Browse & Download, highlight VZ Navigator, Options, Upgrade Check. Free download to the new Version 5.

The download will not show up if you don't have V07 of the software. You will need to take it to a store and have it updated.

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WHEN I GET A TEXT OR PHONE CALL THE OUTSIDE SCREEN REMAINS BLANK. I HAVE VERSION 7.0 ON THE PHONE AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN I WAS ADVISED THEY DID A SPLASH WHICH SHOULD FIX IT. IS THERE A NEWER VERSION THEN 7.0 OUT THERE?

I'm trying to find out if this Micro USB port will support a microphone/stereo headset. I've used my original headset (with volume control) with my last two LG phones VX8600 and and VX8700 and I really don't want to switch to the single prong jack deal. Is it possible to get an adapter to convert from the larger USB port to the micro USB port on the Env Touch? Oh, please! 😢 😢

absolutely love the touch. but heres my prob. i have a wired telephone headset with a 2.5mm plug. course the touch only has a 3.5mm jack. anyone have any worldly idea where i can find an adapter?????? ive talked till im blue in da face to verizon and radioshack. both of which refer me to the other and both of which say we dont sell adapters. i did get a bluetooth but id still like to use my wired set. and those silly earbuds that come with a mic r useless when in my big truck driving. help please!

Update 07 is now available. It is on the LG web site or you can take your phone to a verizon store. The only thing I know that it updates is you can now use the speaker phone with the phone close which is a good update.

Has any new Update software been issued for the EnV touch? I have version 4 and was wondering if any new ones since October when I got mine and if so what does it fix. Thanks

so i know most of probably already know this, but i didn't know my phone could play my protected napster-to-go music. looks like it's time to leave my aging zen at home more often 😁 love it!

I am trying to mate my envy with a Garmin gps with bluetooth and not having much luck. Has anyone done this or mated this phone with any brand of gps? If I can't make it work with the Garmin, I will return it and buy one it works with.

Can anyone help me understand this blog feature when sending a picture message? I tried to do a mobile upload with 2 of my pictures with facebook and its not working.

I used to have Alltel before Verizon bought them. With Alltel, you could not have mp3s from your SD card as ringtones because of some stupid anti-piracy crap.

With Verizon, if I put my SD card in a new phone (with mp3s from CDs I bought) will I be able to put a select mp3 from my card as a ringtone on the phone?

this has been helping me for a very long time. Doing this helps the phone's signal strength, helps the battery life, and also helps it reconnect to the towers in your area. 😁 😁

i wl be upgrading in nxt few wks. i was orig lookn at alias 2 & env3. with the new data plan required on most phones now, i decided to look @ othr fones. i'm now looking @ the EnvTouch & Samsung Rogue. the Rogue has a very nice screen resolution & seems to be a cool phone. of the two phones, i really love the way the EnvTouch feels esp on the qwerty & its a perfect size for me. here are just a cpl ?'s i have about the EnvTouch...& if anyone can answer these same ?s about the Rogue, plz feel free to let me know.


1) how easy is threaded messaging? this is a big thing for me to have on my nxt fone. i also want T9 to save made up words. can't seem to find a straight answer abt T9 for this phone.

I just installed the mobile email app for my hotmail account. Basically it works ok, but it doesn't display html properly. All the html is displayed as text code - pretty ugly and it makes it hard to read the mail sometimes. Is there any solution for this?

I JUST UPGRADED TO THE ENV TOUCH AND I LIKE TO STORE MESSAGES INTO MY DRAFTS FOR SENDING. IT APPEARS I CAN SAVE A MAX OF 2 DRAFTS BEFORE THEY START ERASING EARLIER ONES. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. I HAVE A MEMORY CARD WHICH HOLDS ALL MY PICS AND SOUNDS..THANKS

I'm eligible for the NE2 discount in a couple of months, but I was hoping "santa" might bring me an enV Touch for the holidays. Does anyone know of a good upgrade deal (2 year contract extension)? The best I've found so far is through the Verizon online store for $100. If I can't do better I'll just want a little longer 🙂 TIA
