with the voice record feature, are you able to use 'voice recordings' as ringtones?
I am seriously thinking about getting this phone. i used to have a rumor when i was with sprint but had to switch to prepaid. i have upgraded to a touch screen phone that's all fancy, but to be honest that rumor was my all time favorite phone! i am so very happy to find one similar in prepaid land.

Phone refreshing itself???
Ok I have the r450 and I downloaded allot of music and ring tones blah blah any way my phone shuts itself off and then turns back on every now and then and it resets my ring tones very frustrating any way took it too the place I bought it and they said its a prob with no fix can any one help 😡

how many characters can u use on a single txt msg? on my r410 you max out at 160, and then you have to send another txt to finish your thought.
u max out at 160 but sumtimes when i txt i just use a multimedia txt cuz they max out at 500......hope this helped u

There is a slide lock on the side of the adapter. Make sure the lock is not down or else it will not allow you to move anything to or from the card.

I can't find an ampersand in the symbols and it is part of urls and passwords. (Plus I prefer & over "n" in texts.) Please help!
When creating a text message, go to input "symbol" method. It is the '7' key.

ok i been downloading ringtones an wallpapers from myxer.com an all of a sudden after i downloaded a ringtone i couldnt open my ringtone section at all. my fone kept restaring. i took out the memory card an then it worked fine. today i downloaded 3 ringtones with out the memory card in my fone an tried to open it an then my fone restarted i out the memory card in an it did the same thing. i reset my fone an everything. wat do i do. i need help
one or more of the files are corrupt. try going into the settings and memory info and delete what you have.

Tell me it isn't so...when pics go missing.
I just spent 2 hours saving my pics from my Messager to a new memory card.Then, apparently reformatted my card whilst being distracted by others in the room. The card still shows memory has been used, but nothing is under my images on my card or under my images on my phone. My owners manual is MIA, and I'm currently downloading it form the Samsung website. Any suggestions on how to get those pics back? Please tell me it isn't so that they can't be retrieved again....

Just for the record yes I tried win med player and all that happens when I sync is an error comes up says cant perform action the inted file to use is eather being used in differant folder or some other crap and yep formated it please help please pretty please??????????? please please i want music on my phone 😢
Just stick it in the phone, format, take it out, put it in the computer(card reader) and bring the card up as a F: or G: drive folder, you'll have files that will say My_Music, My_Pictures, etc... and drag and drop your music files. Windows sucks and ...

R450 "crashes" when I use an MP3 an a ringtone.
The only thing I can call it is "crashing". The phone turns off, and the button lights remain on (if they were on). Pressing the red button doesn't help either, only way out is to take out the damn battery.
This only happens when I put MP3 songs into the memory card, in the "ringtones" folder and set one of them as the ringtone. It plays MP3 in the "my music" folder just fine.
This is very inconvenient, and quite disappointing. When you pay 200 bucks for a phone like this, you at least expect it to ring when you get a call, instead of just turning off. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If anyone has a solution to this, I'd really appreciate if you let me know. If I have to be using a particular file format for ringtones please say so. If i...

dude i thinks its ur fone. i have the same fone and set the full song of ay bay bay as a ringtone and it worked fine. just dont put to many full songs in your ring tones unless u have a micro sd card.

My daughter's Samsung Messager r450 freezes when she loads her Micro SD card. It was working perfectly for a couple of days with the first Micro SD card (Kingston 4Gb) then it froze. After doing some research, realize that this phone will not recognize anything over 2GB, so we brought a San Disk 2GB micro sd card. Problem is, it is still doing the same thing. When she load the card into the phone, it freezes all activity. BTW, she did format both the cards thru the phone.
Any suggestions?

Did she download anything from a 3rd party website? I have seen where customers downloaded ringtones onto their cards from another site other then the company site and along with the ringtone it downloaded a virus and infected the phone, we get this ...

Any way to get rid of the @metro text on the main screen?
I really don't want people to know that I have Metro service so I'm wondering if there is any way possible to delete or change the "@metro" text that displays on the phone (before you enter the menu)?

Text memory can only hold 100 messages?
As most already know, this phone has 60MB of internal memory and not 20MB as stated on the info portion of this site.
However, the user manual states the following:
"Available memory is shared between all messages. You can store up to 100 messages. However, the exact number is dependent upon message length."
To be honest, the reason that I purchased a new phone was to be able to store more texts permanently (unless there's a way to transfer texts to your PC - my old Metro phone couldn't do that).
My friend has over 1,200 texts (inbox/outbox/saved) without a memory card on their AT&T Tilt.
This has to be wrong - 100 SHARED messages TOTAL??? Why would they relegate texts to a number of 100 with 60MB onboard memory and memory car...

Keep the qwerty keys on the R450 nice and clean.

When I was @ the checkout line recently I saw product called LCD Wipes, I suppose you could use that on your keypad just as well. And of course theres always Endust for Electrnics.

Problems Downloading Ringtones with Messager???
I got the Messager 4 days ago, and I am having problems downloading ring tones on the phone from the phone's browser. When I had the SLVR, I just went to Myxer or Funformobile.com and downloaded, but with the Messager it says that the files are not compatible.
I didnt have problems when I synched the ringtones from the PC to the phone but its time consuming. I'd rather just download from the phone though. Any suggestions???

the samsung messager can not dowload free ringtones from the web browser on the fone. so i guess ur stuck with the long way untill someone finds a site that does allow the fone to download ring tones from the web.
The Messager can support free sites, but funformobile.com does not list the Messager as a supported phone. I do know the site has to setup the ringtones etc. in formats that the phone supports. I know when I signed up for funformobile.com I had to t...

I've been testing the hell out of this phone and discovered that, regardless to file size, corruption, file type.... It's the folder..... It only holds 100 files.. Including the system file ExInfo.db
