Sprint Cancels PC Downloads from Music Service

Come on ppl it's a cell phone use it for that. 😁 I work for sprint and my plan is a basic talk only plan... Anyways if you are paying for music something is wrong with you ppl anyway use a usb and media player. HELLO!
I'm kinda suprised that somebody who appears to be so old fashion to use they're "phone" as a "phone" only is even on Phone Scoop?!!!?

You must make crappy commission working at Sprint with an attitude like that. Also, Sprint employees get a free plan which includes Talk/Data/Messaging, thus making your claim ridiculous.

That Sprint is (maybe) going under? I mean they are cutting back A LOT. Does anyone remember the Sprint email addresses being taken away? And they just sold their towers so they didn't have to maintain them. Anyone else think this and who do you think will buy them up (if anything happens)?
The problem now is that if someone (say VZW) buys them, they don't get the towers. They only get the customers.

Recording industry pressure?
Anyone think that maybe Sprint is getting pressure from the recording industry?
Think about it. You can buy a song from lots of different places online for $.99, but you only get 1 copy of the song. With you Sprint phone, you can get 2 copies; 1 for you phone and one for your computer.
I would bet that Sprint was getting at least some pressure about this because Sprint customers were essentially double dipping when buying a song. We've all seen the recording industry show just how greedy they can be the last several years.
I also think it has to do with lack of use, like with Sprint email going away. I can't think of more than 2 or 3 people that use the music store and no one that uses the Sprint email for anything except ...

Not really, I have to disagree. Verizons V-cast is the same. You get 2 copies. If you purchase it from your PC its .99 if you purchase it from your handset it's $1.99. Either way you get two copies.

😁 I do have an awesome plan but really don't use everything that comes with it your correct about that... I don't work on sales/commission the only thing i really meant by my post is why pay to download music from sprint when you could purchase a usb cord and get it for free... Maybe you could've read my first post and you may have known that....

The mobile versions of Sprint music store songs have always been in a proprietary format with integrated file licensing that makes the file only playable in the Sprint music store app...on the phone of the account that bought the song.

It's very strange that Sprint would do something like this. I know that verizon is partnered with Rhapsody for song downloads on the PC, and it's very strange to see Sprint backing out of this service.
Does anybody her know (Sprint employees) what Sprint is planning to do? Do they have a new music store coming out? Was the PC download service negatively affecting Sprint's business in some way?

If i pay for a song then i should be able to do with it what i want. If i want to rip it or delete it its mine.
Sprint also has a right to put whatever restrictions they want on products they sell, and you also have the right to purchase songs from any vendor you like. Might I recommend rhapsody or itunes?
