Nokia Broadens Cost-Cutting Measures

as we all know i'm a huge Nokia Fan. and this article just proves that they are number 1 not just in what they make but how they run their company. as alot of companies fire, and force ealry retirement onto itsd people, Nokia has taken a creative high road. that other companies should use as well. This is by far the best solution i;ve seen a company come up with in these down times. Kudos to you Nokia.

That this industry is not as recession proof as people once thought. When the biggest maker of cell phones starts cutting back jobs, closing down factories and asking employees to "voluntarily" resign, you know things aren't going good. I really hope this is short term and doesn't carry on too long. It would be a shame to see top manufacturers go belly up. This is going to be a tough year for the industry, from the manufacturers to the carriers and every employee in between.

Why is that these 'money saving' ideas never include CEO cuts? When was the last time a company came out and said that we are getting rid of all CEO bonuses.
