Well according to the In-depth review, this phone will not be supported by Verizon or be able to make use of their exclusive services. I see no reason for this phone to be locked to their network since it will obviously marketed as an unlocked phone? So is it safe to say that it can run on most domestic CDMA networks?
Sprint does not allow non-Sprint handsets on its network though. ESN/MEIDs have to be loaded into their switch like Verizon. It is not a simple matter of flipping a SIM card in the phone as with GSM. I am unsure about the smaller carriers but unles...

Geez, after lagging as long as they have, Verizon is certainly making up for it this month. This phone really does seem as too good to be true. When I was in Korea recently, video calling was all the rave and really awesome. If Verizon pulls off LTE implementation across its network and keeps their voice call quality, they will be THE cell phone provider in the US period. Where's the Sphone!

Feel good BS aside, this sounds like a way for Verizon to offer something that is really of no benefit to consumers or anyone other than people who dick around with their phones while trumpeting it as "the future."
So when this no-name device screws up, where am I going to go for support? Is it going to be like the days of Windows Mobile where the minute something touches it they recuse themselves of any responsibility if the phone keeps locking up?

Yep. The MiFi is not unique. Data cards have been capable of being used with routers long before Novatel launched MiFi for Sprint and Verizon. It is just that the MiFi makes it easier and carriers support it.

If this is truly legitimate then theoretically Apple could do the same thing as Saygus. Basically, create a device that passes Verizon testing and sell directly to those eighty plus million Verizon customers.

Saygus rate plans?
I am unsure of the execution. I suspect that one may have to sign up for service through Saygus. They do not have any rate plans listed on their sites though the do discuss features such as:
