So you're paying 600, 700 or 800 dollars for a somewhat dumbed down version of a notebook computer. Yeah, the $30/month is nice, but that's a carrier decision. And you're subsidizing it with the upfront cost. So... why would I buy this?

Oversized Ipod???
So basically this is just an Ipod touch with a 9.7 inch screen with a few extra perks? Why couldnt apple have given my ipod touch the ability to have a $30 unlimited data plan first before developing the Ipad? 👿

Let me get this straight. I can get UNLIMITED DATA on this thing for $29.99, but AT&T charges $59.99 for 5GB of data with an air card or net book with embedded modem? I...DO...NOT...UNDERSTAND. Can someone explain it to me?
I think it means Apple is reselling the data to you from at&t like a MVNO kind of. Kindle does this with wispernet but it's part of the device cost.

I am liking the direction of this. Prepaid means NO OVERAGES! You just run out of the ability to use data, at least that is what I hope. I'd rather have to reload when I used up 250MB than be allowed to keep using it and get a $2500 bill for watching ...
