Way less than the sum of its parts
I'm willing to offer a prediction given that it's an Android handset made by HTC: it's going to be way less than the sum of its parts.
And what are they going to do if Clear switches over to LTE? It's not going to be like the Cingular 3G mess, is it?
oh shut up!
Just enjoy the damn phone
Means long term evolution. Now...what does that tell us about the engineering of it? NOTHING. It's a concept. ATT won't go "LTE" until 2012, and verizon can't risk blowing thier "map for that" because sprint has a 2 year head start on "4g" Also, sprin...

Oh my god, what an ignorant comment. Not surprising at all, just ignorant.
Why would Clear switch to LTE? WIMAX is performing very well. The partnerships also have deeper pockets than those of the LTE group. LTE shows that the EU and especially Ericsson will never support any standard not created in Europe. Even though WIMAX...

Umm, refresh my memory, what do you mean by "Cingjular 3G mess"?
QUOTES from respected industry sites...
"Sprint Evo 4G, now at the top of the Android mountain. Sheer domination. There's really no other way to describe it."
- Androidcentral.com
"Sprint changed the landscape for Android devices by announcing the HTC EVO 4G, a handset whose specs make it the top handset, cross-platform, on the market today. The EVO 4G one-ups almost every other handset in the Android platform."
- Boy Genius Report
"Everything that relied on the 4G network, from pulling down Youtube videos to browsing, seemed to clip along at breakneck speeds. While it could very well be due to the fact that there aren't that many devices on Sprint's 4G network just yet, this thing was simply soaring.'
- Mobilecrunch.com
"The HTC EVO 4G is a monster of a ...

Here's the sticky part. These reviews will not have any effect on the normal consumer. You and I know that this is a device which is at the top of the game. Unfortunately, the iphone is still living the modern day Razor craze. The Razor is not even cl...

I wonder how much it'll cost
but it doesn't really matter how much bcuz I'm getting it regardless!! I am actually excited about this phone
I'm assuming something at or slightly higher than 199 (after rebates, with new contract). That seems to be the sticking price point for phones.. though being the first wimax phone, and having a screen like that.. 299 is feasible imo. It all depend...

ONLY 16 BIT COLOR? NO WIRELESS N?
According to the Specs at Phone Scoop, this phone won't have 24 Bit Color NOR Wireless N....
My only question is, with such a rockin' & technologically advance phone, how could HTC miss these two important feats? It'll be years before my small city gets WiMax (although I work in an area that is supposidly launching May 5th according to my IAE) but when I get home... I'd love to connect to my router on my existing Wireless N network. Especially because the wireless N signal reaches all the way to the garage (where I chill), but when I put it in G mode it doesn't get out even to the Patio, so having this feature would be awesome for me.
They were 2 busy wiping the floor with the competition with all the features they did include. Keep in mind the Nexus one only has 16bit color and the display is phenominal and so does my Touch Pro 2 and movies look better on the TP2 then they do on m...

Damm this phone is a beast!
Im not a big fan of andriod but I will be getting this asap!!! 8mp camera are you serious? The newest sense UI! To top it off this phone is so sleek and thin. Damm I think im in love π Sprint 4g here I come! So the rumors about the Supersonic were true π And just a few months ago Sprint was talking about how there would be no wimax phone till the end of 2010! π² Leave it 2 the now network 2 bring 2 bring it 2 you now baby! π
Ever since my friend at Sprint's engineering informed me of this device, I have set my money aside for this. I am very excited for Sprint and the history that has been made.
I think Ill be making my way to the front of the line for the release of this badboy! So far its looking to be everything I want and more. I mean it has a hdmi port for crying out loud thats sick! My Touch Pro 2 is in need a replacement! π
What is it about Android you don't like? I've only been using Android since 9am 3/23. So far I'm ok with it.
I wonder what Verizon has coming???
I'll tell ya, what ever they come out with it better sure as hell make a pretty big splash, otherwise this baby will blow it away and Sprint's market share will be on the rise.
bigger bills and the same slow data speeds is what verizon has coming!! π
Verizon isn't announcing a 4g phone till mid to late 2011, so i don't really see them announcing anything bigger than this. Now when they get 4g sprint will already have more devices.
Verizon doesn't have a 4G Android coming, that's for sure!
Bow down before it's beauty
Look at the phone, look at the provider, now proceed to bow to the awesome.
Not too long ago I recall saying I would probably never leave Verizon; it looks like never has come.
This is indeed an awesome looking phone. Gratz to you guys π
