Be able to talk and do data at the same time.
Be able to use the iPhone in the rest of the world when traveling.

I think they always wanted it. But they also want a consistent customer experience: the same phones in all retail locations, one number to dial for tech support, etc. This doesn't mean that VZW has changed their expectations either.

Verizon landline doesn't want to sell because the wireless portion is basically all they have now (that and fios/backhaul.. which arn't profitable yet)

Here is what Apple has to give or Verizon to cave...
When he says, "Its up to Apple," this is whats up. ATT gives Apple $900,000,000 a quarter in revenue to have the Iphone with ATT. Think about that, almost 4 Billion dollars of much needed network enhancing, company improving money that gets tossed at Apple just to be able to offer it, a phone.
We have heard it straight from the South Area President and Regional Directers. Verizon's not gonna give Apple all that money to sell a phone. So Apple will have to give in somewhat. Verizon will have to pay something im sure, but they aren't going to let their network enhancement budget suffer like what has happened with ATT, and get crippled. Individuals can blog and troll and spew BS all they want, but the 100% fact is Verizon is the numb...
