FCC Not Convinced U.S. Market is Competitive Enough
Solution
Have a government program like Medicaid, Foodstamp where the government pays 50% or more any qualifying citizens bill depending on income.
Or how about Washington running the phone company just like its going to run your health care. What could go wrong with that?

How about a cell phone is a want not a must have so no the government shouldn't subsidize anything for anybody involving cellphones.

The industry disagrees with the report. Verizon Wireless issued a statement, saying, "The U.S. has the most intensely competitive wireless market on the planet, and it's becoming more competitive by the day."
What a f*ckin' joke! The epitome of Corporate America's sick mentality. The most intensely competitive wireless market for WHO?! The top 2 carriers and their split of 60% of the entire US market?!?! Sounds like whoever issued that statement from VZW either completely misunderstood the context of the FCC's stance on this....or, like most Corporations - they're trying to play "the victim in a cruel, harsh, and inhospitable climate". Meanwhile, they're kicking the sh*t out of the little guys while raking in billions. Lame.

I'm hoping they'll wake up and decide that all mobile phones manufactured should be available on every mobile network (making exceptions, of course, for CDMA vs. GSM, but requiring all mobile phone manufacturers to make both GSM and CDMA versions of every single model).
The reason? Everyone should be able to switch carriers without having to worry about purchasing new equipment.
