Virgin Mobile Will Launch Prepaid MiFi

Don't get virgin mobile broadband2go if you depend on it working.

All levels at virgin mobile (from customer reps to so called "executive" care) are unable to report any actual tower issues... this means that when the tower you are using fails it will remain broken indefinitely (or until a post paid sprint customer reports a problem).

On towers that it does work on (grin) it works well... Virgin caps the evdo at 1.4meg down and around 600k up... they also appear to vpn route their connections back to virgin mobile then out to the internet. This is not that bad but you will be assigned a NAT address (10. series)... while using a sprint connection card/mifi gets you an actual routable ip address.

If you are just looking for a backup device or casual usage this isn't a bad way to go... but if they have ...

Not to mention they have a 4G device that costs $60/mo for unlimited (whatever their definition is) data on 4G.

Seriously, it looks perfect!
I just don't know about 5GB though. I play a lot of X Box and Wii and that would go way to fast

Utah Best Buy's got those yesterday, and have already put them out...
