It's finally here !!
That day when after 3 1/2 yrs, another company carries the iPhone! Though it will look like an iPhone and charge like an iPhone, the experience won't be iPhone. And Verizon looks hypocritical since "Droid does" and "There's a map for that". Ah to relive the days of the Motorola Razr. Have fun, Verizon iPhone users, I'll be calling you and hopefully if you're not on the internet or listening to Pandora or on Facebook, you'll answer!

How does Verizon welcome the Iphone to their network when they've done nothing but blast it for years? This is so stupid. And the media seems to have forgotten "Droid Does" This is why I hate the big cell phone companies. They are all money hoarding hypocrites. Plus, CDMA only. This thing is going to suck.

Early Upgrading
Will VZW offer current customers under contract an upgrade path for the iPhone? For example, I know AT&T at least offered slight discount if you were still under contract...I think it was $100 more then the 2yr? I could be wrong on that. Does anyone happen to know anything about it?
Ummmm...I doubt it. It seems Verizon is closing the early upgrade loophole altogether.
No, it's stated in the FAQ on their website. Only people currently elegible for upgrade are permitted to get the subsidized price.

I expected VZW to announce that they would offer an iPhone. However, I would've presumed that it would be launched as the new iPhone in June.
Instead, they take an iPhone4 and bait unsuspecting consumers that have been lusting for this news, and throw them a very soon to be outdated variant just for the sake of sales and able to claim they have the iPhone. I feel really bad about this and so do my family members that work for VZW. Deception at it's finest. So much greed generated from this single product, should re-define it from the Jesus phone to the Anti-Christ.

Why did you bother posting if you do not care?
No simultaneous voice and data means if i'm talking on the phone on an active call, data won't work. It doesn't mean if i'm using data that an incoming call or sms won't work.

Getting voice as well as visual directions was always a huge plus while on at&t. This was also nice to be able to web surf when you're on hold. Hopefully they have a fix as there was some talk about getting CDMA networks to support simultaneous voice/data.
If this is a deal breaker then the CDMA iphone or ANY CDMA phone for that matter is not for you.

The biggest question is whether Verizon's network will handle the iPhone. If it does, then AT&T will look even worse because AT&T said the iPhone brought more strain than any other smartphone. If Verizon can tackle it, then AT&T has some 'splainin to do. But if Verizon buckles, then they won't exactly be the nation's most reliable network.
But the thing is, I don't think you are going to see an immediate impact either way. Sure, there will be people who will pay upward of $500 to get out of their AT&T contract and move to Verizon. But I don't think you will see the mass exodus that folks are predicting. Most iPhone users aren't rich enough to drop that kind of money. So Verizon will see a steady flow of customers if anything. Web OS is still the best
Im sure ill get alot of flack but it really is a shame that the Pre wasn't the Iphone killer that Sprint hoped it would be.
