If people are so worried about their privacy,
they should not be using apps and services that identify their location! Hell, they should not be using smart phones at all! But no, they want e-mail, and Facebook, and FourSquare, and Twitter, and restaurant/bar/club/store/movie theater/gas station locator and maps/driving directions/navigation all of which use location services and/or GPS in some way, shape or form.
Even dumb phones can be tracked. They know what tower your phone was pinging off of if you've made a call, received a call, sent a text, or received a text. They won't know your exact location, but they can get an approximate location. Law enforcement...

I know I am going to get slammed so here it goes......
Can you not see where this is going? Regardless of everyones thoughts on the matter It's kinda like this if I say I don't want the phone to use my location then it should not store it. Enough said ! Just because Facebook Google and the other Big Brother Corps want to use and sell our info does that make it right? I am so sick of all the liberal responses on this site and around the web and everyone needs to wake up or maybe you will find yourself having the put a chip in your hand or your head its called the beast system and it's close to being realistic. Keep giving up your rights and soon you won't have anymore to give up.
im with you bro
ppl dont know went to say no to something.
And another note to people saying if you are not doing something wrong then you shouldn't have anything to hide..... WOW are you even listening to yourself?? I bet you all won't be saying that when you find yourself in a situation where your info is b...

How are we giving up our rights by letting our phone log location data? You are making it seem like they will turn is into mindless drones, controlled by our cell phones if we don't put a stop to this.
If you read the full Q&A about why iPhones st...

If the carrier doesn't know where you are, your phone won't work. If they don't know where you were, they can't bill you for calls placed while you were there.
The entire cellular system hinges on the fact that the carriers have to know at least t...

Pointless
People will still use their phones. If the courts wouldn't allow such stupid lawsuits they wouldn't have to put warning labels on devices. Cigarettes have a warning that basically states it may KILL you, but foolish people still smoke them. Warnings are just a lawsuit stopper. Anyone who has common sense should know that smartphones, especially those with Google, Facebook and GPS apps, will constantly ping your location.
I usually have my GPS shut off....not due to 'privacy' concerns but because it spares the battery...
The rule that unless you are doing something that requires GPS shut off the GPS seems so commonsensical to me I wonder why it even needs to be sai...

It all boils down to the same thing it always does, theres this saying, and it goes "If you haven't done anything wrong then you shouldn't have anything to worry about."
Besides, GPS can be turned off, it really isn't that hard of a thing to do.
I said this in another post, but if people are so scared of their phone "tracking" and logging their location data, well then they shouldn't own a smartphone.
With the ever growing online social networks that allow you to post your location along w...

They forgot the following text. "The reason you're being tracked is so that when martial law is declared later this year, you can be hunted down like an animal, placed in a boxcar, and sent to a FEMA concentration camp."
