I like the phones, but i hate..
the sprint network. It is my opinion that Verizon has the best network, followed closely by Cingular, then a distant sprint. I like Cingular's phones better, and because the difference in Network is hardly noticable, yet Cingular's phones are sooo much better than Verizon's, i would pick Cing. Over verizon anyday.. The reason why this is is the Helio forum is because im deciding where to draw the line. I like these 2 phones better than any of cingular's, but i really dont like the network of sprint. Any opinions on the matteR?

I don't see Bluetooth on the list.
Nice phone, but no BT is a dealbreaker for me.
Thoughts after having both...
Picked up a Hero today so that I could hand down my Kickflip. The Hero is definitely the power-user handset. It played any video I threw at it (1000kbps encoding, etc) which was pretty impressive, as the Kickflip can really only play files encoded with the Media Mover software (which is 64kbps and QCIF size, IIRC).
Additionally, photos are stored as JPEGS instead of the strange "database"-like format that the Kickflip uses.
Overall the Hero is pretty kickass - great speakers, better audio player (it actually pumps out some solid volume through headphones), faster interface, faster browser, etc.
The ONLY shortcomings, and these apply to both handsets, are:
- Doesn't seem like you can set an MP3 ringtone. This is really bad on the ...

who's the carrier??
anybody know?
Helio I believe. It's a new wireless service launching that will run off current CDMA networks. I think it will use Sprint's network mostly, but I'm not sure.
They are on sprints towers currently (like, well every other MVNO in the US) there is a rumor I heard that they are trying to partner with Verizon as well (those being the two major CDMA providers) which would pretty much kick ass. lol.
The carrier...
