I can't think of a SINGLE THING Apple didn't fix.
Every single major problem or complaint people had with the iPhone or iOS devices in general have been fixed with this announcement.
It's going to be hard to be an Apple hater for a while.
too soon..people will find a way to come out and say their phone is better regardless of what Apple does.
I don't want to wait until Fall to get this update, I want it now!
I just hope it's not TOO much like the Android OS though.
Even if some of the features are similar, I'm still willing to bet the execution will not remind us of Android at all.
People say that Apple is behind the curve for wirless phone technolo...

Pinch-to-zoom with the camera app is very cool.

And every single one of these features, so far as I can tell comes from Android or Windows Phone 7....
You know what they say about imitation....
Yeah, making iOS more like Android and Windows Phone is something I support
every thing they fixed was old news they are just coming around to... notification bar is biggest joke
I just watched the video on Apple.com that shows iOS 5 in action, and all I have to say is "I CAN'T WAIT FOR FALL!!"
Yes some of the features are SIMILAR to Android phones, but the execution of them makes it 100% unique to Apple.
The only thin...

Epic fail
For copying android, next step is to Sue google for taking apples idea of the drop down. 🙄
lol!!! I agree they will try to claim that it was an original idea of theirs and that android is infringing upon its patents etc. 😲
Coming down to technicalities, Google's concept is draggin an item (i.e. the status bar) downward to reveal a drawer while Apple's is a swipe to reveal a new screen akin to swiping left and right between different app menus. So there won't be any laws...

Quantum Leap for iOS
This is the biggest change we've ever seen to iOS, and it's a quantum leap altogether. (I'm running iOS5 on my iPhone 4 and iPad)
1) The Split Keyboard on the iPad is a MUCH needed feature. Much much MUCH needed. Using it is so much better, it totally vindicates the iPad's form factor. This device is a million times more usable.
2) The Notifications Bar is stolen from Android- not going to argue that. It's also a marked improvement over Android's, serving as the Widget dock and having built in side-scrolling (yes, iOS has real widgets now!) . The weather widget is fantastic on it.
3) Built-in Twitter client in native apps is terrific- possibly the closest you can get to real multitasking. Already hooked on it.
4) Safari Reader ...

I actually agree and appreciate that you were honest about the notifications bar. I'm impressed with iOS 5. Some were bitching that it looks boring and Apple performed no UI changes. For me honestly I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Same for Mac ...

You do realize the split keyboard comes directly Microsoft's early build of Windows 8?
So that ain't original either.
All old tech that they now claim as cutting edge... Still no Flash aka "the deal breaker"
Love working in a Verizon store when Apple jerk offs lament the Iphone and swear they dont miss Flash... Apple may have plundered the best features of other smartphones but let it be known they aren't even close to the cutting edge of Tech... above a blackberry or palm but behind the rest
Yeah we don't miss those annoying flash advertisements, or the extra battery drain, or the insecurity.
