Sprint Targeting First Half of 2013 for LTE-Advanced
no 10 MHz x 10 MHz configuration in SMR 800 MHz spectrum
The article states that "Sprint plans to deploy Long Term Evolution-Advanced on its 800MHz spectrum" and "will deploy LTE-Advanced Release 10 in a 10x10 configuration."
Those two intentions are incompatible with one another. Sprint's reconfigured SMR 800 MHz X band 12 MHz license is 6 MHz x 6 MHz. So, Sprint can deploy LTE 800 in a 5 MHz x 5 MHz configuration. If Sprint is to deploy LTE in a 10 MHz x 10 MHz configuration, that will have to be in PCS 1900 MHz or BRS/EBS 2500-2600 MHz spectrum.

Would they still be able to get the same tyical speeds of 12-15 Mbps? Sort of a noob to the cell side of networking.

I don't have Sprint no more but this is the first time in a ling time that they jump head first into something that is a smart decision. I still could care less bout them tho. VZW still will look into deploying it too but just not so soon right now. Plus I get these speeds anyway right now. So VZW will be faster once or if they decide to deploy it, which I believe they will. LTE is the future along with LTE Advance.
