Disable Missed Text Message Alert

I just switched to an m370 after my previous m330 died beyond repair. I'm very frustrated by one "feature" of this new phone. I don't want it to make *any* noise when I get a text message, so I have the "Ringer" for "Messages" set to "No Ringer." In fact there is noise when the message comes in, but if I don't happen to use the phone for a minutes then after a while the phone will beep twice to indicate the missed message.

I've searched menus on phone, searched the manual, spent several lengthy sessions on the phone with Sprint tech support, and visited Sprint store, and Googled (the last is what led me to this forum!) -- I'm fairly well convinced that it's just not possible to turn off those beeps. But I'm posting here hoping that...

Wow! A phone with worse battery life than the Thunderbolt. IS IT POSSIBLE?!

Sprint doesn't publish standby times for their phones.

But that should be blank, not zero... fixing now.

finally can get rid of the last m360s i have and not have to worry about seeing that boring blue anymore, yuck
