Just wanted to get more info on if Sprint is ever going to get enough money to pay their employees instead of throwing them off on Convergy's therefore, leaving them with bad benefits and a "ghetto" call center atmosphere as in Nashville and other cities..what's up with that?? Are you guys ever gonna get your stuff together and stop the mass layoffs.

Not a safe company to work for, as a former employee I have to say...there's no money to be given to it's employees. Verizon gives EVERY employee a bonus of more than 1200 every year..and it increases!! Not even including the VAR options which gives employees more money invested in the company to cash in. Tell me some news to beat our benefits at Verizon Wireless. Holla back and let's ...

i just have one question for you. what are you talking about? the first paragraph made no since.

on the second paragraph sprint does gove it's employees a raise every year as well. of course if you do no not make the company any money (ie you have low performance) sprint will not give you more money(ie you have to make sprint money before you can make money at sprint).

i work in the retail. and i have got to say sprint has great pay and great benifits i think on the slery side they are a little low compared to other carriers in the industry but that might be changeing keep your eyes open for that.... 😳

Sorry if I was not very clear. What I mean is that recently Sprint contracted the customer service operations in Nashville and also a few other cities to Convergys. Many employees have complained of high benefits, etc. Rumor has it that the operations were contracted out as an escape from laying off employees and having to pay high severance packages and unemployment benefits.

I guess I understand that there are quite a few performance issues with customer satisfaction and also revenue with Sprint. It just seems that alot of bad decisions have been made however..just wondering what is going on with all of that. 😕

what is going on with all of that is that customers were really unhappy with the level of customer service they were receaveing when they called into the call centers just look at all the posts in this form alone that have expressed dissatisfaction with it. sprint has been trying for a few years to turn there call centers around. however that was not working. so sprint looked to a way to turn that around.

IBM has made huge changes in other companies customer service call centers and so sprint signed a 4 billion$ agreement with them so that they will andel many of sprints call center issues. and i have to say since sprint has higwered ibm to handel there inbound call trafic there has really been a huge increase in the quality of customer ...

Another thing I've noticed is that Sprint is practically giving plans away now. It used to be quite difficult to get a Sprint phone if your credit wasn't good. Now, if you have a $125 deposit, you're good as gold. So, with companies like Metro and Cricket, they don't have to pay $13/hr customer service reps to deal with vertually "pre-paid" type customers. They can outsource their reps and pay $8/hr.

Sprint has been giving the option of paying the $125 deposit since I started working with them in 1999 which was the infamous ASL (account spending limit) for customers with not so great credit. That option caused quite a few problems because the customers didn't understand that they could not have a price plan of 79.99 or so and acquire roaming or overage. If something like this happened, the next bill that printed would cause the service to be interrupted..along with various other reasons.

If you ask me..it's always been easy to get a Sprint phone, they were the next easiest thing to get other than a Cricket back when GTE and everyone else was charging $800 deposits. Sprint let everybody in.

Going into other things..customer s...

Ok if I may ask a question then? I work for T-Mobile customer care, we just got rated by jd power&assoc #1 in customer care and a couple other things, but we still have outsource call centers ran by startek, savant, and convergence on the west coast and 12 corporate cust care call centers, building #13 in somewhere BFE, maine. anyway...I know Sprint has a bad rap for customer care, but I've heard a lot about their efforts towards "Revamping" I work just on my team of 18 with 3 former sprintpcs cust care reps and have heard horror stories. If for no other reason than just discussion and interest in the industry, how else is Sprint re-working operations in customer care?
Ok so I have 2 questions 🙂- We currently have our "Smartaccess" progra...

Well I live in Nashville, and I used to work at the Nashville call center.. I just heard on the news a day or two ago, that the Nashville "Convergys" call center will be shutting down March 2005, and 825 will be loosing thier jobs.. At least they are doing this a few months AFTER Christmas! But the Nashville call center was one of the BETTER call centers. They were good enough to be picked to be converted to be the main business services center. and also to test the start up of servel other departments like the International Roaming Team, and so on. I was part of the Testing group for the International Roaming team.. We also held all the training for the Indian E-Care group. Sprint brough them all over from India to Nashville to train.
