First of all, virgin mobile has way more coverage than tmtg. tmtg and vm don't even compare in that arena. And like someone said before that new 35 cents to connect and 10 cents/min all day after that. No one can beat that right now. Except maybe liberty wireless, but their phones suck also. I think a lot of people can agree that VM is currently leading in the payasyougo market right now.

Sorry bro, but TMTG and VM have about the same coverage. I know, because I used to have VM... VM's coverage is the Sprint network minus the analog coverage area, pretty much. What that means is that, much like TMTG, you're covered in major urban areas and along major highways... that's pretty much it.

Second, VM's new pricing plan is better, but still not as good as TMTG on a big card, because you get to pay $10.50/month in fees to VM to get the good rate.

Finally, VM is leading because of good marketing and because they got into the game early. But the best deal and the best coverage? Nope, not quite.

Virgin does have very nice customer service (every rep I ever talked to over the phone was incredibly nice), but the service itself was nothing to write home about. When I was with Virgin I was pretty much guaranteed a dropped call if I drove through a particular 'dead zone' just a mile from my house. This is the middle of the Silicon Valley, mind you- very densely populated urban area.

No offense, but Virgin/Sprint's network is far from the last word in reliability... they weren't awful, but they were far from the best, as Verizon later proved to me. I personally do not have T-Mobile, but friends who do seem to be reasonably happy with it... your mileage may vary.

I say BOost mobile they got some of the best service I ever seen! As for tmobile vs virgin i say Tmobile I live like 30 min from Los Angeles and i get horrible reception and i live in a freakin city not in the middle of nowhere and i dont get recept.

let me say BOOST MOBILE Sucks i could never make a call on there crapy iden network .also thay are the worst and most overpriced pre-paid company out there i will always say go with virgin mobile T-mobile sucks just as bad as boost mobile virgin mobile all the way 😁

boost actually has some new plans and they are very good. in fact they are the best in the marketplace today if you consider their qt sub growth, arpu, and churn..

tmobile, virgin mobile or boost are the best out there.

i will say that boost mobile did add a month to month plan which is good but thay still dont give u alot of minuets only 250 a month for $50..i use that a week and i still pay less for my metro pcs with unlimited minutes. back to virgin mobile thay are one of the leading pre-paid phone company's out there all's t-mobile got to do is also come out with a month to month plan like virgin & boost then thay will pick up sales.

I think the best service 2 go 2 is verizon b/cuzz they offer betters things. Right now I have virgin mobile and I'm not pleased wit themam and I'm bout 2 switch 2 verizon. VM charges 2 much and they don't have free nights and weekends and most of my friends has verizon n e way so i can talk 2 them 4 free whenever vm gets free nights and weekends I'll switch back

A person who types like you should learn how to spell correctly, and use proper grammar "b4 u ghet eh f0ne". Seriously, I dealt with people who spoke like you all the time, and they would come up to me and ask "iz you got dem cherp cherp fonez?". To that I would reply with "what?", because (not b/cuzz) I couldn't understand them.

Back on topic. If you don't like virgin, you're going to hate verizon. They have more fees. Also, if you talk alot, I think that Virgin has different plans that are about on par with post-pay plan.

Anyway, sorry if anyone seems to be offended by this, but people who talk like this don't deserve to own a phone if they don't know how to SPEAK on said phone!

for the record, all cell phone companies market to people who talk like that, so it's not their fault they want a phone, you are taking it out on the wrong side of the situation because you know that the other side doesn't really give a damn what you think because they sign your check.

When the manufacturer designs that phone, they design it for that customer that you hate, when your carrier purchases a million of them, they purchase them to cater to that customer that you hate. If they were not marketed to then you would not have a problem, but your bizzness relies on them, and the exploitation of the black market is needed for a lot of enterprises, as in UPN, the WB, and Boost mobile... don't worry, once boost gets enough money out of them they will drop them like they were "hot".

The manufacturer designs phones for ITs consumer carrier, not the end user. Hell, the manufacturer could care less about the end-user, because they don't buy the phones, the carrier does, after that, they don't care if Verizon, Sprint, Nextel, or whomever sells even one of them, because they already got there money.

As far as people I hate. I never mentioned black people, you did. I just hate the "urban-flash" types (that would be the RadioShack term for them). Heck, they come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Also, as far as my "bizzness" relying on them, not really. I sold Verizon as well....

For myself, when I was with them, I thought the service itself was decent, and their customer service peeps are very nice and helpful. The phones weren't and still aren't that great, but that's prepay for ya.

What was really annoying was the pricing. Using my phone even a moderate amount meant paying through the nose, and maybe a few other assorted body parts that I'd rather not mention. 😲

If you register a credit card with Virgin Mobile they will top it off automatically for $15 every 90 days. Your glove box phone will cost you $60 a year which comes to $5 a month. That's a great price for a low use phone.

Hey hey hey, this is man who GETS it. Nothing is perfect everyone. No single plan is 'best' or even 'better' than any other. It all depends. Also, no company has great service (or even any service) everywhere. Pick what works for you, enjoy it, and know that you made a good informed decision. Now customer care issues, that's another story. Viva the Virgin.

i think what u guys fail to realize is that u dont need to have good credit to get on a contracted plan... u simply need to supply a compatible phone yourself then your not required to even sign a contract.. u can have a contract plan without the contract

Forgot to mention that you got the possibility of overages with Virgin's monthly plans. They say its only 18 cents/minutes, which don't sound too bad, but read the fine print- they charge you in blocks of $4.50, aka 25 overage minutes.

So if you go ONE minute over, bang, you pay $4.50 in overages. That's a pretty expensive one minute, yo. 😁
