As u know Metropcs is always expanding into new areas! LA, Daytona, soon NY, etc. This update allows your phone to get these areas so u can roam free and also updates anything new with the travel talk roaming agreements that metro has with verizon and alltel. Update yours today if it been awhile. I update mines every two months.
