htc evo 4g on metro
i have an evo 4g that I am trying to flash to metro. I have called in the hex and dec number and they cannot find it in the system. any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

BECAUSE THE EVO IS NOT A METRO PHONE!
Go to a third party metro store. They might be able to work their magic. Remember, the evo is a cdma phone, so flashing it will be more of an art than a science.

i know its not a metro phone but they should be able to tell me whether i can activate it or not right?

As a Sprint rep, if someone calls with a non-sprint meid, it'll tell me that it's not loaded in the system. It was the same in the glorious days that I had VZW, and I assume it's the same for every other CDMA carrier.
When you have a phone from another carrier, the only places that can get away with activating it would be third party stores, where they would flash the phone. Make sure you get some endorsements for the store (other people stating they had their phone flashed with no problems) and then see if they can flash it.
Again, keep in mind that with non-SIM phones flashing is a risky business, and you can just as easily end up with a 4.3 inch screen, 1ghz processor, HDMI output phone that will only be good to make and receive cal...

Is the phone listed at http://helpdesk.houdinisoft.com/approved_hand sets.pdf ?
If so find an authorized dealer or store that uses Houdinisoft to provision.
If not, then you will have to wait for Houdinisoft to add the phone to the provision list.
