We received a demo model of the new Motorola V262 today. At first inspection it is definitly a good replacement for the soon to be phased out T731.

Pros-
* Rubberized phone casing
* Loud External Speaker Phone
* Negative External Display is easy to read
* Menu response is fast and smooth
* Keys have a good tactile response & feel

Cons-
* Extremely TINY screen
* Same old difficult to navigate Motorola Menu
* No special features such as games

Just curious if anyone knows whats going on with the release of the v262 or the Koi, etc. The phones were supposed to be released in the next few days/week and there is just not a lot of info out there confirming that. Besides where are the Demos/info etc? The only thing ive seen is some BORING Nokia 6019--Anyone have insight?

Just a question...was wondering how everyone is selling the new easyEdge/picture messaging pricing. I'm finding it harder than it used to be. When it was set up on the older system, it seemed easier to sell it to people, even though you had to explain mg/kb to most people. Now all it seems they hear is the money for the easyEdge package...then the money for the picture messaging package. By the time you're done, they've added 10-15 bucks onto their package. Any hints?

The stores have received the demo and training materials for the v710. The material in no way references the integrated mp3 player. Motorola states on their web site that the mp3 player is a feature of the phone. I hope US Cellular did not remove it from the phone. 😕

has been a giant pain in the patootie from the agent level....it seems like many people can't grasp the concept of TRacker pack...while it is supposed to save money people are blowoing through their minutes way b4 their cycle date, and trying to renew their pack minutes early...anyone else have any horror stories??? 👿

US Cellular's scheduled release for the Koi is November 24th, 2004. They are also releasing the Motorola V262 and V710 this month as well. The New Nokia flip or "fold" as the Nokia rep told me is scheduled for early next year. About time the US got Nokia's nicer technology phones. Speaking of Nokias the 6019i is supposed to be realeased this month as well.

I want a good PDA phone that works with U.S. Cellular. I know about that big, bulky Kyocera thing. Is there anything else that's new and/or smaller? I prefer Windows Pocket PC or Windows Mobile or whatever it's called, but I'd settle for a good Palm OS or Linux-based phone. Are there any choices besides the Kyocera? If not now, are there any coming soon? I'm due to get a new phone, but I don't want to commit to another 2-year contract if there's a better phone just around the corner. Please help.

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes a phone to go through testing with US Cellular. I am getting ready to switch from sprint over to us cellular, and would really like to get the vx 6100... I know it is in testing but don't know when to expect it, if at all...

😁 I received about 100 calls this week about the battery issue that's already been addressed by US Cellular. People are going nuts, like "I need a new phone, mine might explode. " I swear, I could really give those news channels a piece of my mind. lol.

work in the cellular industry, have read a few posts, always want to jump on in, so finally i am able to. i'm glad to hear something about the SoHo. That phone needs something for it's appearance but if it works good than that's good enough.
the newest nokia 6019i, is definently not my favorite, it's a mini-me of the 6585. i totally agree JABN.

USCC may release a new PDA phone in the March-April time frame. An unconfirmed rumor is USCC is looking at Sanyo or Samsung as a model maker.

I read on another forum (ok, on Alltel's forum) that USCC has re-called the 5550s because of screen problems. Well???????????

My screen is crap on mine, contrast is very light compared to the 2 other ones I bought. I have it set all the way down to about 5% or so and it is still all washed out. I complained when I bought it, but the dealer said "oh, it's not unusual for them to vary from one phone to another".

Well it's finaly here and we'll no longer be using EE useage. Haven't heard when this is going to be put into effect yet but it'll definatly be before the tenative date thats set for the koi and possily V710 to be released of Nov 17th. Still don't know how this will affect people who use Picture Messaging for the virtualy unlimited amount of text as to using text messaging that has limits.
