Wow... Jesus works for Helio?!? ๐ณ
They must have more pull than anyone thought! ๐

and poeple thought verizon was built by god himself. guess again!
Wom, how do you turn somethin' amusing on the Helio forum into an anti-Verizon slam?
Jesus H... get over it, already. ๐
Not to mention I thought it was pretty funny. If you didn't I don't really give a crap!
Once again I am not against verizon I am against all these crazy ideas people have in thier head that verizon is soooo much better network wise.
Ampd used their network and people complained about hem all the time. It didn't' make amp the best most reliable network.
But anyway like I said I go for who works for me. And alltel puts verizon to shame in sc and nc. I know that for a fact!

Then you better be really into not giving a crap, because you're reaaallllyyy not funny. ๐
VZW is only a company. When you get into a haterade jihad against them, you're as bad as the zombies who think they can do no wrong.
Perspective man, perspective. ๐

Verizon is a well managed company and has great advertising. Those fact alone is what makes them number one. Not their superior network because its not. It is overall = to sprint and alltel. Better in some worse in others!
Well, customer loyalty/churn figures would argue strongly against that, but you're entitled to your take on it.
I'm sure there's some areas where sprint and alltel are equal or better than VZW, but it seems like they are more areas where VZW is better. People don't stay with a carrier just 'cuz the ads are good, lol.
Just look at the job alltel does on their advertising! God help verizon if alltel was nationwide!!
wombough said:
no they stay with what they believe are the best.
If the service isn't good, they leave. No ad with a dorky-looking guy in a jumpsuit is gonna change that.
If you honestly think that Sprint has double the churn rate of Verizon over just their advertising, I don't know what to tell you. ๐
Retail is all about advertising. Why do you think they spend millions and millions? Because it doesn't work? No. It works. If it didn't they would not advertise and spend the money on something else.

Advertising helps make people sign up. It doesn't make them stay. ๐

It does if they are convinced by advertising they are with the best already!
Okay. And then if they go to make a call, and they can't, what do they then believe? The advertising, or their own direct experience from five seconds ago?
Do you honestly believe someone would stay with a carrier if the service was absolute s***? "Oh gee, I can't make a call, but the ads are cool, so I guess I'll sign up for another two-year contract!!!"
People just aren't that stupid. Well, 99 out of 100, anyway... I always reserve a little room for the genetic throwbacks.
What you're trying to say is more applicable to situations where the service is so-so, not awful.

someone else that read to much into it.
Sigh, nope. This is what YOU said, a few posts up:

People don't leave because their service is bad. You know why because they think verizon is the best so it will just get worse if they switch.
Do you get why you're being confusing here? ๐
I am talking about were the service is pretty = as it is in most areas of the country.
Now that you're finally being clear, yes, I think image can influence things a bit. But I wouldn't agree that service is equal in most areas... for example, in the Bay Area of California, Verizon is awesome, Sprint is 'okay' (at best), ...

Verizon blanketed the tv with commercials right before they launched in eastern NC. And they are very clever to call...

Pretty much all carriers do this... if most of your minutes are roaming/'extended network', you're actually costing the carrier more money than you're worth.
Sprint, for example, will terminate you if more than 50% of your minutes are roaming minutes (some of their reps will SWEAR they don't, but they do, and its even on their website that they can do this, last I checked).

LOL, I made it sound like Sprint will kill you if you roam too much. But I think everyone knows what is meant here. ๐คฃ
I also suggest that we stop debating stuff on this forum, since its about HELIO, and we're starting to look like trolls, or rude, at the very least. Still think you were silly for tryin to turn a Helio/Jesus joke into an anti-VZW slam. ๐
Finally, here's a cool site for you to visit, it lays out which carriers have licenses where, and whether they have a 850 MHz license (cellular) or 1900 MHz license (PCS) in a particular area:
