Update on Ocean 2?
Our crappy US. Cellular contract ends on the first of February and we will be switching to either Verizon/Sprint/Helio our Coverage maps shows that if we had Helio we would get Send stuff+more, does that mean we get all the 3g features, they just wont be as fast as if we were in the 3g area? I want to get the latest and gratest phone though so when do you think we will start hearing more information about the Ocean 2 launch, or if somebody already knows something PLEASE post.

yes, HELIO is an MNVO, it works off SPRINTS network (cdma) which also meens you will get 3g as long as your in a 3g covered area (you can goto www.helio.com and check coverage maps to find out)...as far s ocean2, no word on what it looks like or when and if it will be released

A few months ago someone posted a pick of the Ocean 2. Its white and the qwerty keyboard keys are flat. 🙄 I purchased the current Ocean model on Saturday and I love it. 😁

unfortunately (As cool as it looks) its just a really good photoshopped pic of the kickflip and another phone (not sure which one, i forgot) but yea, its not the ocean 2...not yet anyway

there is no date pending, it could be jan, feb, march, april, may, june, july, aug, sept, nov, dec of '08...lol...in other words...no one knows

when talking to a high ranking helio rep last month I was told the new DATA full qwerty phone is scheduled to launch in Jan. I do not know if anything has changed since then but that is the last info I received.

my guess is that they just released this phone this year. i think they said this phone took two or three years to make. i am guessing quarter 1 or 2 in 09 is when we will see the Ocean 2

I don't know which "high" ranking Helio rep. you talked to, but you were misinformed. First off I work for as a CoRK and I can tell you there is no release date yet of Ocean2. It hasn't even been approved, nor has it been out for testing, so if anything don't expect it yet. I'm just being honest and saying this, Helio doesn't tell reps. info on this just because of this. Reps tell people information they have no idea about and mislead customers on release dates of certain phones. The only people that can answer this is the CEO, CFO, etc.. people in the upper corporate. Reps are kept in the dark as much as possible because they shouldn't have to worry about a phone coming out, just concentrate on what's out and get that done.
