sprint and vzw coverage are both good in SF. i've had good luck so far with signal including evdo, everywhere today.
if you mean their customer service, so far they are bending over backwards for me. part of that may be (1) they know who i am 🤭 and also that they have very few customers and are really concerned with the launch experience. there are still obscure bugs they're working out of their system. but they've been great about acknowledging that they've only been up for two days and that they're working to squash said bugs asap.

I have a question. Will Sprint release phones such as the ones for Helio anytime soon? If so, wouldn't it be cheaper to go with Sprint at that point rather than through a reseller?

helio phones are exclusive to helio, they will not be available through other cdma carriers in the US.
you will not be able to buy a helio phone and use it on other US CDMA carriers.
someone did a price comparison of how much it would cost to sign up for all the services and voice minutes included in helio plans and it was within a few dollars of what helio charges.

I have Cingular with edge and i want to know how much faster the 3g is than the edge?
