Recently purchased Moto Pro Unlocked
Hello just purchased this phone unlocked on Ebay. Just wanted to know if there is a way to upgrade the Android 2.2 to 2.3 because I know it is out there? Thanks!!!

If by unlocked you mean rooted, then you're already halfway there. You'll have to do some research online for that model and the software you want. Just because it's "out there" doesn't necessarily mean it will work, but you'll have to see what's available. You don't have the most widely used Android phone around.

Thank you for responding epik. I purchaed this phone from a major vendor on Ebay that specializes in unlocked phones. For example this is a Verizon phone but as long as it takes a SIM card they can set it up for me to use on the Tmobile network. That might be what you call rooting. I am not technical so im not sure. but if so then i would be halfway home to get the update correct.

Nope, you've had the GSM side of the phone unlocked. Rooting, which you will likely need to do in order to attempt any software change, still needs to be done.
Unlocking pertains to the radio portion of the phone, and specifically, to a GSM phone. CDMA phones don't get unlocked, but the GSM portion of the phone can.
Rooting is an Android software term which basically opens the operating system to accept changes that normally wouldn't happen on their own, such as installing a version of the operating system the phone doesn't support (yet or ever, in some cases).

I was a little confused by the "unlocked" portion too at first. But the Pro is a global device so it actually can be "unlocked" which apparently is what he really means. So it may or may not be rooted too.
