The Droid 4 is still the leader of the pack when it comes to keyboarded phones, the Stratosphere 2 will not impress anybody. its a cheap to make phone that will fill a niche.

Keyboard Androids have been heavily marketed over the past 2 years. There is ample market data to suggest whether they are commonly desired or not. Whether or not the executives are ignoring the data or not is an open question, but you cannot claim that there is no basis for the move.

You need to try other software keyboards. There is plenty of choice for Android soft keyboards.
