Galaxy III vs RAZR MAXX HD (SIGNAL STRENGTH)
I am at the point of upgrading - however I cannot decide between the two phone; Galaxy III and the RAZR MAXX HD. They both appeal to me and here is the positives that I have heard about the RAZR:
1) The antenna is way better on the RAZR - fair better than the III.
(This is the selling point at this point - there is nothing more fustrating then having no signal.)
2) The battery life on the RAZR is far supreme.
(Which is expected as this is the selling point to this phone).
I am being told that nothing can compare to Motorola's antennas - which makes sense as they are big in the communication business. (LE, Fire, etc)
Soooooo - what I am wanting to ask everyone - is the antenna that much better?

No one builds better antennas (overall) than Motorola. They've had a couple flops over the years, but they are generally among the best.
As for battery life, the AMOLED screen sucks rocks, and they both have AMOLED screens. You have two reasonable choices:
1) Spend the extra $100 for the MAXX variant, and not the regular one.
2) Buy a spare battery for the Samsung and keep it in your pocket all day long, because you'll probably need it by about 4:00. Then, deal with remembering to charge the spare every day, which means popping the back plate off your phone no less than twice a day.
If I were you, I would wait 3 weeks for the LG Nexus handset to show up on stage. It's going to have the same "size" battery as the Galaxy S3, ...

The 260s 265s were garbage, too. Discontinued within weeks of release.
I seem to remember the v60c being alright, but maybe I'm just remembering that the v60i was MUCH, MUCH worse than the v60c.

I had the S3 and just changed over to the RAZR HD, not the MAXX.The S3 will show signal in my house but I could not carry a phone call. I loved everything else about the phone, but signal is most important. Camera is better on the S3. Everything else, I love my RAZR. The HD still has a 2500mA battery. I get almost two days out of it. Love the Moto smart actions. Form factor feels much more study. Anyway, love my phone. Just wanted to give an opinion since I have owned both.

I've lived in Montana for the last 4 years, working for a Verizon retailer the entire time. Our biggest struggle out here is reception, as I'm sure you can imagine. So Motorola has always been our "Go To" phone for reception. I actually asked one of the Moto Venders a while back as to why Moto tends to have the best reception. His answer was that most the hardware on our Switch is Motorola made, so they work together seamlessly. I don’t understand how it would make any difference, but hey, I'm no engineer. I just sell the phones and learn whatever I can about them.
Now in saying all that, we have recently come across something interesting (In the past year). HTC has been running a part of its antenna to the back do...

So, here is an informed answer, cause it seems like you have not gotten one yet 🙂. I have played with both phones a lot, and i own the GS3. Its all gonna come down to preference in small areas.
The Razr Maxx HD. Price 299.99
Huge battery. Charge once a night and be totaly fine. Might be able to get 2 days out of it on very little use. Gorilla Glass screen, stomg kevlar ( or however you spell it) on the back feels really nice. The phone its self is heavy, but not a brick. Software wise just a little below the gs3. The biggest difference is the 1gig of ram the HD has conpaired to the 2gigs the GS3 has.
