All,
If any of you have a capped iphone data package and want truly unlimited, PM me. I can get it added for you even though the feature is gone.
Will
...
yeah cuz thats totally not possible unless u cheat the system, which if u work for att like u say i hope u get fired for the breach of policy.
...
It's technically possible and not "cheating". Assuming he has access to Telegence and can provision the account with the expired SOCs... it's just kind of ignoring the rules... 🙂
...
Even if he has telegence access he has to be able to be provisioned in order to do that. Credits and activations or higher has the access to actually do that.
...
I think the folks at CARE call it a "work around"... god bless the folks that know their job well enough to not be sheep and calculate the 'work around" aspect of Customer Service.
It is what it is.
...
smetimes they can sometimes they cant 🙂
...
just a little fyi, telegence codes your name of doing it and you have to have a very good reason and access to actually do it.
...
Or maybe he knows something you don't.
...
that last comment was pretty harsh! but i am curious....how can YOU get it added but others cannot. seems like a non-level selling field?
...
either he is a manager who should only add the feature for extreme conditions say u get an upgrade and they mess up and don;t get it added or it removed by mistake by a rep which are extreme conditions. other than that there is 1 other way around the system but you have to have an orignal iphone 1.
...
Of course it can be added on and there is nothing illegal about doing it. Do you remember a few weeks back when AT&T was doing this for customers who have iPhones to keep them from going to Verizon.
Really, Will is a reputable person and just wants to make some commission as we all do. You need to chill and quit accusing people of wrong doing.
...
ATT was adding it back to customers who originally had unlimited and switched off it - not customers who never had unlimited data. Someone coming on a forum and offering to give customer's unlimited data is acting against ATT policy, and if caught, would probably be fired for commissions fraud.
...
i argue with people all day why we can not add unlimited data back to there line. thats because att does not want unlimited on peoples plans. so att never proactivetly added unlimited back to peoples lines. and the fact he came on a forum and offered unlimited defeats every time i have to argue with someone about unlimited over the phone. call 611 and see what we say about unlimited data, its not going to be "ok here you go"
...
i agree that will is reputable...just wanted to find out the reason for this odd post. you know?
...
Managers cannot add that. If a rep messed up, it cannot be added back on.
...
not that i care too much about corporate interests at at&t, but really dude? you're coming on an open internet forum offering unlimited data to anyone who thinks they need it? yeah, way to undermine EVERYTHING i have to tell people when they call in complaining about me not being able to add it. thanks for making all of our jobs harder, douche. and i don't care how "reputable" this dude is, his post is shady. at&t doesn't proactively offer unl data to people unless they're threatening to cancel, or have had unlimited data before. new customers are never supposed to get unlimited data on a smartphone.
p.s. 98% of smartphone users on at&t use less than 2gb, i can count on one hand the amount of users i've seen go over that in all the accou...

...
p.s. when it costs $10 more to go over by 1 mb people pay attention. Look at a Verizon bill of mbs... not the under 2 very often, and if 2% of people are the only ones going over, how is the bandwidth being compromised? Why would they go to a cap? $30 for unl that no one ever reaches 2gb or 25 for 2 with an overage rate that stiffs the 2%. That argument is played out.
...
but you could go back and forth with those 2 arguments for hours, with no real clear-cut "winner." the bottom line is, AT&T no longer offers unlimited smartphone data. get over it! we have choices for a reason.
...
I wasn't trying to b*tch about it. But using the minority approach as a form of justification is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Everyone in care should really work on the positioning of this. I have to position the unlimited plan all day. I never say to the people, "it's because 98% of people don't have the competence level to call #3282 on the last day of the bill cycle to watch their usage."

huh??
...
Honestly it's a pretty fail example. My bad on that but that doesn't change that AT&T can't position water to people dying of thirst from what I've heard when I call about tech issues I can't resolve on my own.
...
did you try power cycling the device? oh..you did...hmmm....uh....i gotta transfer you.
...
Not quite sure what the intent of this message is. Is it playfully witty? A bash on my ability to troubleshoot? A jest on the lack of actual service?
...
potentially all of the above, I am not too sure
...
This entire thread should be removed I am a AT&T certified trainer and what "will" is doing is commission fraud asking people to pm him with their phone numbers it is a breach of policy to add ANYTHING to a customers account without them being face to face or on the phone with a customer service rep. He will get fired because AT&T does monitor phone/carrier review sites. 😈
...
cool, so do something about it
...
Can you train my dog to rollover?
...
No- He is an agent. go figure.
worse yet, he is getting paid 2.2 or 3.2 times.
Don't know if you are doing it for the comp or to hit a VAB, or what. I would recommend not doing it for the sake of the 90 day no cause clause in your agreement.
...
Jake,
From time to time in POS, the unlimted SOC shows up besides if coming from a PDA or BB unlimited plan. Both with new and exisiting customers.
Not doing it for a VAB or FF comp. Just pointing out that more times than not, I can still offer it to customers. That's all.
I am aware of the stipulations in my att agreement.
Where does 2.2 or 3.2 X's comp come from?
Will
...
Will,
Where are you located in Dallas?
...
Wise County. Ye-haw! No I am not a redneck.
Will
...
Ok. I was looking for a storefront to go to purchase my upgrade... guess I have to try Galleria... ðŸ¤
...
Delta,
I can mail you next day whatever you want. It would be my pleasure to take care of you. PM me and I will give you my cell number. Thanks!
Will
...
Why would you ever say such a thing? You know that is a clear violation of the COBC
...
i guess he can't figure out how to sell the 2gb plan. pretty easy really, people are suckers.
...
2gig data plan? Isn't that the only plan that AT&T offers?
...
nah, they also offer 200mb for $15. there's also a tethering/hotspot plan for $45 that gives you 4gb
...
Somehow I think that day will never happen.
...
It is amazing to me the amount of time some people have spent on this topic.
Pickles - Dude, you need to lighten up before you have an aneurysm.
Nextel18 - Bro, Will knows of which he speaks. I know you enjoy this industry but you are talking out your a$$ on why you think he can do this.
Will has been an outstanding contributor for years on this site. He offered up a gem of information and he gets ripped by the Johnny come lately people and the speculators. How about some of you learn to educate yourself about the posters. The ones who ACTUALLY contribute something useful to this forum may stop coming if you keep this up. At that point you will be left with trolls acting on trolls.
How useful is that?

lol, trust me i'm way ahead of you on that one. but i appreciate your concern, tex.
...
lieing to people about unlimited data which is against att policy and giving false hope is definitly not a good contribution and im sure the only reason will even gets on this site is to get more people to buy phones from him and to get more money because i see his posts and almost all of them say come to my store to get a phone or information. so chill tex
...
+1! finally i got some backup against these clowns
...
Yes this is 100% against policy. he doesnt have access to be able to do it anyway
...
This reminds me of when that kid posted in the Verizon forum about how to get the $9.99 data plan removed and the corporate types lambasted him. They had that poor child curled up in the fetal position with his thumb in his mouth. He was telling the truth and all they could do was threaten his livelihood. Chill out people. The man will suck the blood from your vein and the marrow from your bones, chew you up and spit you out and keep on moving.
...
Exactly!
And it turns out after all the a holes that ripped him were wrong. It was a legit "loophole" that Verizon themselves know about and use it to satisfy unhappy customers.
Corporate schmucks love to say how they can do things agents can't but when an agent can do something they can't it is pile on time. No chance Will is right, no "asking" legit questions, just a big f'ing dog pile.
Will earns very little if anything offering up advice here. And yes, he askes for the sale. The better question (for those who rip him for asking for the sale) is why the hell are you NOT asking for the sale? What kind of piece of crap sales reps DON'T ASK FOR THE SALE? The future unemployed, that's who.
You know why people like Will and I...

Hell, it sure has dried up here. I remember when there were three or four carrier forums which kept up with the Verizon forum. Now I understand that AT&T and VZW fed on ATTWS and Alltel, but even the leftover forums which should have gained posters seem to have worn down. This is the only site I frequent with regularity in between surfing porn and sports sites. But...you're right a lot of the posters are gone and rarely even stop by anymore. Pretty sad...
...
Tx; seriously now. If he would like to violate COBC violations to add things that he cannot add or try to, then who are we to stop him 🙂
...
So you are saying you have read his wireless agreement with AT&T? That's the only way you would know whether or not what he is doing is not allowed.
...
I just know things 🙂
...
Att has not offered unlimited data since november 7th of 2010. end o story.
...
sorry i had wrong date june 7th.
...
Why has this thread not moved to the second page by now. I'll admit it was an interesting read, I would have loved to received unlimited iPhone data. But alas, it was not in the cards and I paid AT&T an extra $10 for two months so that I could make due when I didnt have cable
...
Just wanted to say thanks for the unlimited data. I've used 7g so far this cycle!
