Hey All
I am sure you've read posts like this before...I am a current Verizon customer and was thinking of switching over to ATT since my contract is now up. My folks would add me to their Family Share plan but was wondering what actual ATT customers think about the service? Am I better off not switching...I am hearing different stories from different people. I currently live in the Boston area
Thanks
...
I think this falls under the category of "different stories from different people". So to the OP-Switch if you're unhappy with verizon and at&t is better in your area. Don't switch if you're just trying to see if the grass is greener. It isn't. If you're unhappy with verizon at&t will give you a 30 day trial.

Real man is correct it may work out, but keep in mind it may not. Just know this:
1) Service reports from the Boston area have been awful lately. This may be the "it gets worse before it gets better" period as they are integrating LTE, but the service has been awful lately in the area...
2) The return period is only 14 days now, not 30 days.

Let me first start off saying I do NOT live in the Boston area. However, January of 2012 I made the switch from Verizon to AT&T.
In the Ohio, Indiana , and Michigan areas I am much happier with AT&T than I EVER was with Verizon.
Thanks for reading.

Had Verizon and experienced a high number of dropped calls, not just in my area but everywhere I traveled to. The voice quality was terrible too with the other person sounding garbled. AT&T's network voice quality is much much higher.

I am gonna do it. I have the opportunity to get the HTC One X for a penny...What do you all think? Im gonna do it but wanted to get your thoughts
...
i have the one x+ and i absolutely love it.

I was thinking to switch also because verizon is no longer offered unlimited data if i will upgrade my phone. But I need unlimited data and a new phone. Can I do that with AT&T?
...
NOPE. Unlimited is available at T-Mobile and Sprint for the National carriers. If you're in a Metro PCS market they also have an unlimited plan.
...
I see.. But i heard that Tmobile has unlimited data with speed reduction. And Sprint is way more expensive than AT&T. I had sprint before an I dont like their service. Thats why I switched with Verizon
...
There is no speed reduction on T-Mobile.
...
Actually, I believe they have their throttle set at 2GB with the unlimited plan.

I live in the Boston area, and I can tell you that service has decreased substantially in this area. When they upgraded to 4G LTE they shifted their cell sites which unfortunately, decreased cell phone reception and speeds. I left over that reason as well as others. Their customer service is also a joke. Try T-Mobile or Sprint. Both work very well in Boston.
Verizon is very good in Boston as well.
