I'm curious to know how this will affect T-Mobile.

Cingular and AT&T have had a lot of issues with their customer service and GSM coverage. But in a way it just ups the game a bit. I just hope T-Mobile can keep up. 😳

Ok..little insight:

In my opinion concerning a few things, go with Coverage 1st...the merger will defienitly increase the GSM Network for the 2 companies, but the thing to keep in mind is that it is a "merger" in more than one context, and given the fact the T-Mobile, AT&T, and Cingular all have roaming agreements with eachother in select markets, it will be more of an overlapping of multiple cell sites, more so than a "expansion". The thing to add to this is the phone support, each company has shared phone tastes like SE T616 so it will come down to a re-vamp of ESN/IMEI's, so some head butting will happen, but should be a decently smooth transaction over time.

Next - Customer Service/Contracts...well we know how bad @ times CC can be...

Word up Jaymush!

AT&T and Cing have to also merge BILLING SYSTEMS!
When T-Mo did this, there were all kinds of problems and we have come through it with flying colors. People who are fed up of having a monster bill thrown at them for no apparent reason, but a system problem will come to the people who have it all figured out, T-Mobile! I have no doubt we will take this to our advantage and make it better for all of te consumers! 😁

Yeah, we came out of the billing merger with all the prismatic flying colors of vomit. Anyway, I'm glad we're through it, and now have a very stable system in comparison. When we converted there were like 3 million customers, 25 million is a little different. I can imagine Cingular/AT&T conversion being even more difficult. I'm assuming the Cingular customers will be fine, but AT&T customers need to run while they still can, even if it's to Cingular before they convert.

What merger? Last I heard and read... it was a buyout. AT&T will have no say so in any decision making. Look for Cingular to bury to buy T-Mobile.

😳 $41 Bills? Holy schnykees! That's a lot o' $$. I just don't see this being a good idea for Cingular. I see it being great for us (TMobile). We have basically doubled our subscriber base from around 6 to 13 million in 2 years. While we might not be the best carriers I think we are top 2 with Verizon being 1st. Our customer service is great. We've spent over $2.5 Bill on new towers in the past 2 years. In '02 most of our towers were to increase our "footprint" of coverage but in '03 we were basically making our footprint better. We put up extra towers in high usage areas and filled in gaps were we could. I think we could pass Sprint this year and become #3 (with ATT and Cing merging that makes the big 5, not the big 6). Nothing'...

I agree with every thing you say about Tmobile accept for one thing Tmobile is now the 4th top company not 5th. This is because Tmobile pass up Nextel. Plus, Att and Cingular merge leaving tmobile from 6th to 4th. Largest to smallest Cingular, Verizon, Sprint, Tmobile, Nextel, and Alltel. But I do agree in quality Tmobile would come in 2nd place. Tmobile is catching up fast with Sprint. After being a Tmobile costumer no wander tmobile passed Nextel. At the rate Tmobile keep going they will pass Sprint just as fast as the passed Nextel. Tmobile is the fastest growing cellular company in the US. No other company has grown that fast (in the US) in that amount of Time. Tmobile is one of the best.

I have sold every carrier on the market and by far t-mobile is the best. The only down fall they have right now is their coverage. If anyone has ever dealt with Cingular's cust. service and the other carriers they would what I am talking about. The #1 and #2 company's that I have people switch from is Cingular and AT&T. I think this merger will cause our company to double in less than a year. I am being told AT&T customers are going to given a chose of resigning with Cingular or getting out of their contract. This will help out our company considerably.
