Unlocking a sidekick?

could anyone give me a unlock code for a sidekick so it can be used on cingular service 🙂

Sidekicks are able to be unlocked sure, but alas must be unlocked using the appropriate channels. Nobody can simply just give you an unlock code. Each device will have a different unlock code. you can sometimes find unlock codes online or through some indirect dealers with flash software, but at a cost. Your provider may be able to obtain it as well.

Also, using the sidekick on cingular service will do you no justice for a coulpe reasons:

1) It is a tri- band phone, assuming you are talking about the sidekick II, or single band if you are talking about the origional (either color or b/w). It is configured for 900/1800/1900 or just 1900. Cingular uses a split 850/1900 mhz network, so you wouldn't be able to use the device on the 850 ban...

well said! I get so many customers in my store that want to buy a sidekick II thinking that it will be this bad ass unit for Cingular. You in so little words explained how it's not going to work better than I could in person face to face with easier to understand sentences. I usually get blank stares when I try and explain about Cingulars 850mhz band vs. t's 1900. Good job!

I guess being in WDG que will do that to you...I've really learned a lot since moving into that....Talk about a challenge, try explaining to a customer that knows nothing about data what blackberry plan will be best for them and why; when presented with a "yes I have a home office with 3 employees and I want to buy them blackberries. I need __minutes, e-mail, and internet service but I want it all managed in one place but have seperate e-mails" Or trying to explain to someone the difference between WAP and HTML (sometimes java) when all they know up until the point the ask you is that their phone has an internet browser and they can't go to the sites they want to....Practice give you a whole lot of options on how yo...
