Sidekick pre paid

I was curious how the sidekick on pre paid works. I went to an authorized dealer and he didn't really know about the pre paid. Do I have to buy the phone at full retail, and also how does the dollar a day work? Do they just take it out of your checking account? Any info would be great.

Okay, Sidekick to Go requires a Sidekick II device, and a SIM card. Initial activation gives a 15.00 credit to account, voice service is billed at a flat .15/minute and all data features including browsing, SMS, IM, email, sending photos over email and synchronizing data are unlimited and billed at 1.00 per day. Downloads are billed on a per occurrence basis. The greater the refill amount the longer the refill is good for, i.e., a 10.00 refill will need to be used within 30 days but a 100.00 refill is good for 90 days.

Hope this is helpful! 😎

Oh, can't give you a number on purchase price, but that's what Ebay is really, really good for, and you can do refills directly through the Sidekick with a credit card.

No difference in the device. If you haven't tried a corporate store, you might look one up in your area and call around to see what kind of a price you can get on a new one. That way you have warranty on it, if the price is close enough I'd go for new.

It goes to whatever--if you don't use voice then any day you log on and use the Sidekick is a buck off your credit balance. If you download a ringtone or something, the price is deducted directly from your available credit. A friend of mine has prepaid, and it updates the balance information really quickly.
