I don't want it to happen at all, but if it does & these "concessions" are required of at&t they just may be forced to keep rate plans & such. See link!

I don't understand how the government is going to allow this buy out/ merger.

First, t mobile phones will be axes. Based on a complaint that some if the phones are not compatioble with ATT existing service. Claiming their just trying to do the best for customers. That will reduce production. Causing massive lay offs. Less phones to sell means you need less sales people. Laying off store reps & phone reps. In some cases manufacturering plants & stores could be shut down if they are the largest producers/ sellers of the discontinued models. Customers will be offered replacement phones @ discounted rates, but not free. Less phones manufactured and sold obviously means less to ship. There for hitting fed ex, UPS, not just drives, but shippin...

Of course after all that, you can just imagine the price increase. ATT raise rates so then Verizon will follow. Back and forth....

If one spends thirty nine billion dollars to extinguish a rival there WILL BE a payoff. Synergies. Eliminating head count and redundancies. They won't necessarily close ALL T-Mobie call centers. They will use this as an excuse to step on the neck of the CWA in their AT&T (old Cingular) call centers where some employees are likely making more than they are perceived to be worth. Middle management for T-Mobile will likely get their throats slashed though and rather quickly. Front line employees (sales) probably will be a survival of the fittest. Throw them all in a store and watch them feed on one another.

not exactly. CWA is very strong. people who are not executing properly and/or on warnings etc.. have a big issue.. management who are not in unions are also could be fired.
