I'm in day 4 of my T-Mobile trial after less than satisfactory customer service from Verizon. Can anyone vouch for the service in the Troy/Rochester/Lake Orion area with T-Mobile? Either way, I would like to know before I sign or cancel. I found one dead zone on Rochester Rd. between Mead and Snell Rds.

Thanks

well. between mead and snell is when you're getting closer to the boons.. anything north of tienken i'd say should be lucky to have service.. and most spots there do. I used to live in rochester and still head out there on a weekly basis so i know the area pretty well. In Lake Orion my phone works fine on baldwin near the mall, and all the way up m24 to at least lapeer. It works fine in a lot of oxford too. I've never had a problem in Troy, which is also pretty well covered.

I'll say this though.. if you plan to take your phone far north on rochester road (like towards lakeville), you may experience some deadzones, but in rochester itself it should work fine

Thanks! I appreciate the info. We are closing on house between Snell and Gunn off of Rochester. Other than the one DZ that I found, it seems to be OK. I get my signal right back and have no issues where the new house is. With all the building going on out that way, I would think that signal strength will improve.

also note that rochester municipal is notorious for not granting any tower rights in residentials area, and/or highly populated areas.
