I don't think so. I've been told that the V710 for Alltel and USCC will have the extra Bluetooth profiles that Verizon version lacks. I don't know specifically if that includes the profile that enables phone book transfer, but I imagine so.

I hope you're right. If so, I'll definitely stick with Alltel, so long as they get the phone on the street in the next month or so.

The whole reasoning behind Verizon's choice to eliminate bluetooth transfer is to force you to buy multimedia through them. So you can not bluetooth sync to your computer or palm pilot but can still email directly to the phone. The bluetooth function was mainly for their bluetooth headsets.

The release date for the 710 is Oct 28th and all file sharing capabilities will be enabled

yep, "demoers" have had no problem with it, and the best reception we have seen. Bluetooth will be unrestricted. It is soon 2 be released in highspeed markets.

I've been told by ALLTEL that it'll be released in our market on the 15th of Nov. I'm in Reidsville, NC and believe me, it don't get any slower. By high speed markets they meant 1xRTT markets. Which to my understanding we are.

I grew up in Reidsville. In those days Greensboro & Danville were like NY city to us.

I just moved from Danville....trust me, there's no way in HELL that it can be compared to NYC. I work in Greensboro though....good town.

I agree, Greensboro is a very good town. I miss living up that way. Some of my fondest memories are from Greensboro.
