My 2yr contract with Alltel is finally up on the 26th of this month and I will be getting an iphone.
Does anyone know if Alltel would release me from the contract a week early - I have a razr and I will be lucky if the phone makes it that long. It is currently shutting off all the time and just generally flaking out on me.

why are you so excited to get an iphone. The new version has MANY kinks and bugs...people are very dissappointed with it. There are many other phones that offer more options. 😳

I hope you don't like pic messaging or downloading from your browser, well you dont' have that on your razor so you wont' see that part.

Typical Alltel, don't give an answer, just argue against the customer. Do not leave one day early. They WILL charge you the ETF.
...
As well we should. You think AT&T will let you leave early? Nope.
Wait out your contract then you get your buggy iPhone.

Very doubtful. Just hold out. They are unlikely to be very sympathetic to someone trying to leave them.

um it has nothing to do with being sympathetic you signed a 2 year contract not a 1 year contract and 364 days so. You have to fulfill what u signed up for just like ANY other carrier. Thats just common sense.

I think he was reffering to "exception upgrades." Often carriers will allow you to upgrade early if your current phone is dying and you are in good standing with them.
But yeah, the company isn't going to let you out of a contract early so you can go somewhere else. That's like your boss not paying you for your last week at work since you only worked until tuesday.

#1 we are about to be Verizon, and in that you will at that point have our signal and verizon's signal... i.e VERY GOOD SIGNAL!!
#2 GIVE A GOOD LOOK AT THE "HTC DIAMOND" MUCH BETTER PHONE AND WITH SKY FIRE DOWNLOAD , IT WILL GIVE YOU FULL VIDEO ABILITY ON ALL SITES AND A FAST "WINDOWS" BROWSER.. AND YES WE HAVE INSURANCE... 😎
...
and now the Diamond pro...

so you want an iPhone huh? It has been rumored that Apple wants to break their contract to exclusively produce the iPhone for At&t only. Verizon/Alltel will be the largest carrier in the nation. I can only imagine that verizon will pick up the iPhone at some point and it only makes sense for apple. stick around see what happenes.

The iphone cannot be insured by traditional means through carriers, it must be sent to apple for tech support, etc.
If Apple hopes to get Verizon to pick this phone up, they will have to hand over some control and fix some basic features on the phone (MMS, Etc).
The iphone is a great media device but it is still only average when it comes to being a phone.

Why get the iPhone? it sucks. Dont buy into the hype its just a trendy gadget. if you want a real phone get the BlackBerry Storm, Samsung Omnia, or Touch Pro etc.

I recommend you switch over to Verizon, since you are used to CDMA. GSM is different, and you may not like it compared to CDMA. I have been a GSM user myself for 5 years now, and I like it a lot, I did switch over to Verizon, and ended up hating CDMA (in my area, AT&T has better coverage) so I went back to GSM.
Now, with that being said, I highly recommend you go for the Moto Q, BB 8830, or the new Samsung Saga. (Trust me, touch-screen phones are NO cakewalk!) QWERTY keypads are the absolute best on a cell phone.

1. Don't get the iphone, it flat out sucks.
2. If you want to try AT&T, I recommend the Samsung Epix or the Blackberry Bold. Both are exceptional devices, far better than the iphone!
No matter what, DON'T GET THE IPHONE! YOU WILL REGRET IT, BUD!

I would suggest Waiting for the BlackBerry Curve 2 if you want a BB. Much better phone.
