Since Alltel is no longer offering the ROKR, the only phone I want from Alltel, would it be possible to upgrade to a referbished phone if my local Alltel COR store has one?

The only way refurbs go out the door from corporate stores is on insurance claims, or for "upgrades" where people have more than 13 months left on their contract, no insurance, and a dead, lost, or stolen phone. Unless you meet either of those two circumstances, no - you can't get a refurb from an Alltel store.

I found that this is not true. I went to a COR store and asked this same question. They said that it wouldn't be an upgrade, I'd just buy it at the retail value which is actually the upgrade price. But they ARE willing to sell it to me if I ask for it.
