Confused!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I am in the red area of Nebraska and a current Alltel customer. What does all this mean for me? Will I become a Verizon customer or will I stay an Alltel customer?

In that area, Verizon will be selling what it already owns in order to absorb the customers and other assets currently owned by Alltel. You will become a Verizon customer.

Yes, it's already been agreed to in the final FCC agreement.

Verizon likely has far less customers in those areas then Alltel does. As well as Alltel having a better network.

I would agree that Verizon has far less customers in this area than Alltel. In the county I live in we do not have Verizon service at all.

There aren't too many areas where Verizon is selling their own networks. In Nebraska, it's because outside of Omaha, they only have PCS, and it isn't likely fully built out.

Michigan is the other state where they're selling their own network, and those areas are just PCS for Verizon. The only reason they're selling off the acquired Unicel network in Minnesota is because it needs a lot of work. That was the reason Alltel sold it off the old Western Wireless network when they acquired Midwest Wireless. It'll be going through another change in ownership in the near future. Who knows who'll get it this time, and if any money is spent to improve it. If the FCC would have mandated it, they could have made Verizon keep the Unicel network i...
