I left verizon last year because of a bill that I disputed for months that they would not credit. When I opened service, the rep did not add internet, which I asked them to sign me up for. My first bill was outrageous with overage charges. I just started service with alltel two days ago and I am very happy. I live in the Greenville/Spartanburg area of SC and I am positive Verizon will take my market area, because they're big here. Once they merge Alltel customers into Verizon, are they going to see my past due bill and cancel my service? I've heard that I will still be on my same Alltel plan through the end of my contract, but what about after that? Then will they notice this or will they let me renew? 😲

well your just screwed 🤣

you have 2 years till it matters

Dont listen to Sniper.
He has no idea what hes talking about.
But more then likely they just deleted the charges because you would still be getting a bill even if you cancled, so i wouldnt worry about anything.

I would say that you would be fine I have had customers when I worked with verizon come in and try to add another line and they said they couldnt unless they paid the past bill but they could upgrade and all with no problems so I would say no problems and smooth salling how long ago was it charged off??

It's been in the past year. I still get bills from Verizon and calls about the bill. There was over $200 in charges plus they've added the ETF so it's pretty much over $500 now. It's probably on my credit report too, but I can't afford to pay a bill for something that high, especially when it wasn't even my fault. I'm just worried that when they merge Alltel customers over to Verizon billing, they're going to see this bill and demand I pay it or cut off my service that I currently have. Or, if they don't catch it, once my Alltel account runs out and I have to renew with a Verizon phone, they're going to say I owe this bill and then I'm just screwed. Does anyone know if they are going to make Alltel customers go through a credit check w...

no, no credit check.
but now that you said they are sending bills and all, you need to call them and get straight.
Verizon doesnt really have as many bill problems now as they did.
Just call them and get it worked out.

heyyyy im glad to see im not alone.
I went to college and tried to change my plan to the 900 min plan and was lowered to less than 400 so at the time it took away mobile to mobile. Then wanted unlimited texting mobile to mobile obviously with 500 outside. well they took it off completley and i know mistakes happen, so i called in the hopes that a company i trusted for years would help just to be laughed at by 3 different people. and was stuck with a 1200.00 bill. Finally found someone to atleast help down to 400 but i refused to pay above the agreed 80.00 And it ended up canceling and i went to Alltel. So i owe a 400.00 bill that was not my fault either.
So once again, glad to see im not alone.

#1 im do know what im talking about,if hes under contract with Alltel now , Verizon has no hold on him in anyway, except to let him leave with out penalty.... so think before speaking child

saying your screwed.
GROW UP.
YOU HAVE NO IDEAD.
And more then likly they deleated the change because if not they would still be calling her and sending her a bill dumb @$$.
...
The poster did say they were still sending a bill and its on their credit report. It was within a year that is not old. ATT told my friend he still owed back in 1996 when they were bellsouth DTS.

Did you ever think to tried to work out a repayment schedule with VZ? It would have beat a hit on your Credit Report. You do understand this will still be on there 7 years from now?
If you would have tried a bit harder I am sure something could have been done.
I am always willing to set down with my customers and try to get a bill corrected rather than have chargeback from a closed account. And I know it can be done,
