Alltel Boosts MyCircle Numbers by 5
Today, 9:05 AM by Eric M. Zeman
"Starting Friday, March 27, Alltel's MyCircle 10 and MyCircle 20 customers will be able to add an extra 5 numbers to their MyCircle calling plans at no extra cost. This expansion is valid in the 91 markets that are still operating as Alltel wireless. My Circle 15 starts at $60 per month and includes 900 anytime minutes, and My Circle 25 starts at $100 per month and includes 2,100 anytime minutes."
I just got off the phone with Alltel Customer Service, who said that this is absolutely incorrect information, and that they are not responsible for what appears on phonescoop.com.
Gee, I can think of five other peopl...

They are not going to act like they know what is coming out as the calls are being monitored or recorded but it is more thank likely true since you have read it here!! I know alltel is very hush hush because it is confidential info
...
So you think this will happen tomorrow?
...
I'm fairly certain this is for customers that will be divested to another carrier only. This was news from a while ago.
...
It is true as I saw our local Alltel store putting stuff up with it on it already and it is for divested markets only.
For the rep to say that, they either haven't heard yet, or you where talking to a non divested rep.
...
The new my circle packages are only to Alltel divested customers. When you call customer service the automated system picks up on the number you entered or are calling in on. It then transfers you to either a divest or non-divested employee - So a divested employee would know all about this a non-divest employee such as myself didn't know anything until it was posted here today.

I was hoping it was like the final FU to verizon ! I know that scott ford would have never sold to big red cause he really hated it !!! Thanks Goldman and Sachs for screwing us yet again as you did all the alltel employee's commission because of you I lost prob like $75K over the time alltel sold to them !! Now there giving that extra cash to the high brass what a shock!! There is not much choice to sell when a company goes private !! Sorry Scott but I know you are a rich jerk now!!
...
OK, so, in other words, if YOUR Alltel is being taken over by Verizon, you don't get it, and if it isn't, you do?

The article that appeared at 9:05 am yesterday on the front page of phonescoop.com made no distinction of that. If that's the way it is, it sucks, but it just makes Alltel look foolish. Even for the markets that will be Verizon shortly, including mine, which is Charlottesville, VA, they could add to their bank of renewals by extending the offer to those folks, too. I guess that's asking too much, though. No one will tell me when VZW actually gets here...like no one knows???
Very poor business decision, IMHO.

The reason why it is just the divested portions is because even though the divested and non divested both have the Alltel name, they are 2 companies. You can think of it as Alltel A and Alltel B now. Or as Alltel (divested) and Alltel/Verizon (non divested). What Alltel A gets Alltel B doesn't get and vice versa. That is why only the divested side is only getting it. Even if Alltel A wanted to add them to Alltel B they couldn't because Alltel A can not see Alltel B's billing systems or accounts anymore and vice versa. Verizon would have to chose to add something similar for Alltel B to get it.
That is one bad thing about the whole thing. When people hear Alltel, they think of both the divested and non divested together when actually ...
