Where do you get that Alltel has more on hand cash than VZW? I would like to see some #'s on that cause there is no way...thanks for the laugh though...what were your 2Q results:

I heard a pretty good rumor the other day from a South area VP that ALLTEL wanted to spin off the wireless division, like AT&T did with ATTWS. Verizon's interest was in then buying the towers & spectrum from ALLTEL Wireless, converting the towers to VZW freqs (they're already CDMA), then leasing space BACK to ALLTEL Wireless, like Spreenk does with Virgin Mobile & Qwest.
I thought it was BS when I heard it, but it's so complicated, it just might be true. After all, truth is often stranger than fiction, isn't it?

3q states that Alltel has 8 billion on hand cash. www.alltel.com. Don't get me wrong, verizon is a great provider who alltel has great relations with. You forget alltel sold thier financial serfvie group and mortgage group in 2003 for over 10 billion to concentrate on Alltel communications inc. in which after certain purchases and network upgrades left 8 and change in 2004 Q2-Q4.
