Hi Whats up I am from Ohio and I am just wondering who in the world would pay the type of money that SoLinks phones cost for a service that only works in four states? And why the hell do you guys get the phones before nextel? I am just
really anxious for the i860. Is their service any good? Well take it easy.

they get it earlier then nextel is becuase they control a smaller area and nextel controls well the whole united states. since southern linc only controls a small part they can take a chance of having the phone come out, but when nextel gets a phone they have to make sure its great!! becuase if there is one problem then they have to recall thousands and thousands of phones which costs money and time!!

no problem. it does make sense. nextel controls more so they have to be careful while southern linc doesnt so they dont have to worry a lot to satisfy the customer while nextel does.

glad you understand it 🙂

On the contrary. Southern LINC service does only cover a small area, but within this small area they have a better coverage than Nextel could ever have. They have spent the same amount of money as the big carriers on a smaller area to ensure a more solid coverage. Not to mention that most Southern LINC customers don't leave their coverage area. Do you really drive out of state everyday? And even at that, when you do take trips, do you really drive out of a four state area? If you do, how often? And provided that you do drive outside of your local area, does your service charge? Southern LINC offers free nationwide long distance to make up for the fact that their Instant LINC doesn't roam outside of their four state coverage area. An...

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot. Do you really think a cell phone company that only covers a four state coverage isn't worried about their customers? If a company that small doesn't do everything in their power to please their customers, how long do you really think they're going to last?

Just my 2 cents.. Nextel has absolutely NO service at all where I live, or where the better half works. Most of the area we travel to and from town or to and from work, has absolutely NO service for nextel. The 2-way part of southern linc does not work on trips no, but the cell phone did when we traveled to Illinois for a funeral, as well as worked for the trip to the Smokey Mountains. Not sure whos tower it worked off of, but it worked. 😁

the only towers it *could* have worked on, based on the fact that solink uses iDEN, are *gasp* Nextel's. 😳
