this lady just spent 30 minutes telling me everything she could about her son and herself after I had already explained that there was nothing we could do. I simply said, "Ma'am, I feel like I know more about your family than I do my own, but I still don't know what you want me to do."

that's right up there with the old guys (who ALWAYS have severe halitosis) who have a quick question, you answer it, then they spend half an hour explaining the issue with the car that's being repaired over at Sears, or some crap like that.
