Text Messages
What prevents us from sending text messages to everyone that has signed up for text messaging without regard to carriers? (Much like the ability to call using a valid phone number.)

I bet you have AT&T TDMA service, right? I don't know if this is normal problem, but my little sister uses a Cellular One TDMA phone (which works exactly on the same signal and frequency as AT&T TDMA) and she has trouble sending and recieving text messages between carriers also. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
