Why I prefer the iPhone over ANDROID

first off I do work in cellular, and I am very aware that I make crap commission wise selling iPhone. I totally understand where people come from when they hate this phone for that reason. But there sure seems to be a lot of hate aimed at this phone and I see a lot of threads about why android is better.

I decided I would make a thread about why I wouldnt choose Android over iPhone

1. I do not like the look and feel of Android OS. To me Android does not have a polished look to it well thought out interface. The icons all look very amateur in comparison to iPhone. It also just doesnt seem to run as smoothly all the time.

2. The battery life of Android devices doesnt seem to last as long as my iPhone 4. Most my friends use Android...

One of the things keeping me away from Android is the whole music things. I love how simple iTunes makes it (drag and drop, then click the "iPod" app). I'm planning on upgrading to an Android phone, but will keep my iPhone as an iPod because I don't want to mess with it on Android.

I think that you just get used to one or the other, then have troubles switching. Just need to sit down and play with the new OS til you got it.

now lets go the other way:

-Cant pull battery, either for soft reset or it has a dead cell, new phone rather than new battery.

- Very controlling of apps, not fan...but not a big deal either.

-Antenna issue

- recommended recall by consumer reports

-got beat by 3 androids for device of the year 2010

-2 colors 1 style

-overpriced

-not really ever changed, same ole rehash of the same old iphone

Now I do like the looks of the Iphone, smooth interface, there is alot fo cool stuff but with all the problems its had...people are so hypnotised by it like its god sent with no imperfections. I would be willing to try one, but I think super amoled is just as good, super amoled plus is better.

-You dont need to pull the battery to do a soft or hard reset. If you have ever trouble shooted an iphone you would know that there is multiple things you can do in the settings of the device to fix any issues whether it is software or hardware related. Holding the home sleep button at the same time for 10 seconds does the exact same thing as removing the battery and then some.

-I have developed apps for both OS's and there really is no difference as to what is accepted and what isnt. The only way that apple is controlling is that they dont want apps full of racism, harsh violent language and pornography. That really isnt a bad thing, theres lots of kids who use these devices.

They also do check apps for bugs, bad programming, and ...

I am however glad to see that google is moving android in a more universal user experience like apple.

with their new software version 3.1 i think it was??? they were gonna require all headset manufacturers to use this version. they are planning to elimnate the fragmentaiont plauging the devices currently. I like this more also because in my opinion stock android is much better than what some of the other devices offer.

this will help ensure that devices are getting the updates when they are pushed out, which is another reason why I would pick an iPhone. it always gets updates and everyone iphone user gets them.

so it is possible my view on some of the issues i have with android will go away in the coming year or so. only tim...

iPhone is overpriced bacause they're buying parts from Android phone manufacturers. I hate iPhone because you don't have freedom.

While that is cool and easy, on an android, I can find free apps that let me download asmany mp3s as I want, set them as ringtones if I want and sync them with my iTunes if I want. With iPhone, you have to use iTunes and very rarely do you get free songs. And they have no apps available to download free mp3s...

haha. thats what I was gonna say. while it is nice to have apps to download free music, I dont know exactly how long youll be able to have that freedom. theres got to be a ton of things wrong with those apps legally. thats not gonna last forever.

and I myself just use torrent. im not forced to buy any music either.

dont be surprised when android has its own version of itunes and you are having to do the same thing to get music on your device.

The current figures indicate a spike in the demand for both iOS and Android platforms. Back in March, only 44 percent of smartphone buyers said they would be getting an iPhone and 31 percent said they were looking at Android.

Dude, have you ever compared the reception of an iphone vs. any regular cell? I can tell you that even a CDMA iphone won't hold a match to an ordinary unit. I had an a v950 Sprint phone that would pull 2 bars of service ROAMING off of Verizon while my buddy's iphone had zero in the same location. It's not an issue of defective antennas, it's an issue of inadequate ones.

Signal reception can also be attributed to the casing material used, metal. Metal blocks/weakens signals.
That, plus the crappy antenna equals lotta issues.

And you're right, the antenna issue is not bogus, it's even all over Apple forums, still affecting customers 2 years after and with newer models.

No only that, but with Bluetooth as well.

1. Smartphone data plans = too expensive
2. Smartphones = fragile and easily broken when dropped
3. IPhone = the absolute most useless device in terms of it's primary function...a phone! Horrible reception.
4. Smartphones = the size of a brick. 1999 all over again.
5. CDMA smartphones = tied up phoneline while surfing the net. Again, rendering the primary reason to have a cellphone useless.
6. Tablets = are cheap And wifi is free.

I used to own a mobile shop before where I am only selling android phones. I feel frustrated when everytime that my customers asked for an iphone. Because i am not selling iphone or any apple products at that time.

When my bf gave me an iphone 4 (which was his birthday gift for me) , I finally understood why my customers preferred to buy an iphone.

I have android phone and iphone at this moment. And my bf has the latest phone and version of the android. I explored the features of those phones and I can say that iphone is better than an android phone. When it comes to the quality of photos/videos, applications, games, style, operating system, and other major features, I can say that iphone is way much better than an android.

So, bef...

So does Apple, Windows and others.

This is not exclusive for mobile platforms either.

Providing personal/important information over a media device is never a good idea. Unless you have nothing to lose, of course.

1) Do you prefer more available functions over smooth graphics?

2) Do you intend to personally manage the security of your device content?

In the case of the first question, it is a matter of function over form, or the opposite. Customization really is not much of an issue any more, at least not in terms that are independent from added functionality. Android is highly functional, and in so doing it offers greater diversity of operations and customizations, but this is at the price of some stability and smoothness. Apple's iOS is much more refined in appearance, but this is at the cost of some base functionality (though some function is added back in with a slightly more robust field of apps). Apps really are the great equalizer i...

I think it really boils down to this:

Do you like iTunes and have you paid for apps, music and other content from iTunes? No then you safe to go with whoever.

Do you like insane cameras - Nokia (Windows Mobile)

Do you like to fully customize your phone appearance (software) - Android

The best way to figure out which phone to get is do a lot of reseach and youtube review videos, and go into a local store and handle the phones.

Why do you think of changing the brand? I’m pretty sure you are accustomed to IOS interface now. Maybe it would be better to just buy an iPhone 6 because LG won't have the camera as good as yours.
However, it is up to you to analyze the disadvantages.

iPhone or Android, it's a personal choice and based on user-friendliness which are very subjective. Reviews and comparisons do help a lot in coming up with the next smartphone to get, but still this choosing one boils down to individual preferences. Same thing goes to the comparison between a Ducati and Harley! 🙂

I totally agree with you. Everybody keeps arguing about what is better when in fact there isn't a winner. Everyone should decide just for yourself because, we all have different preferences.
