Do mean the Blackberry 8900, cuz T-Mobile doesn't have the Bold. They have the same processor, the Bold is larger but the 8900 has a higher res screen. The Bold is 3G as well, while the 8900 is not. As far as MMS goes with Blackberry it works no problemo, you don't have to do it as an email attachment. The only phone I currently know of where you have to do that is the iPhone.

Yeah, sorry, it's the 8900...not the bold...they both look the same to me.
My sister in law who has the older model Pearl through At&T told me that photos come out distorted on the Blackberries and you cannot receive picture messages on it as well. She told me that she had to get the data plan at AT&T and then she had to sign in on a online email account to access these photo text messages. I have an older model Samsung T809 but I pay for the $4.99 msg plan and I get my photo messages without having to log on anywhere. Yes, I also read that the 8900 does not have 3G, and though I won't be getting internet right away, it's always an option in the future.
Anyway, thanks for all the info...at the moment, I'm not impressed with any of T-Mobile phones. That was one of the reasons I was going to switch to Verizon or At&T...they have nicer phones IMO...But for now I'll keep looking..

You don't need the data plan to receive MMS on T-Mobile's blackberries. If you don't get the data plan, just make sure you add the "blackberry voice addon". Its a free feature that enable MMS on blackberries that don't have the data plan.

Thanks Smylax. I'm pretty sold on this phone and thanks for the advice about the bb voice addon...I was worried that I had to get the data plan just to get messages. I'll probably get the phone without the data plan for now, I figure I can always add it on later....great site with helpful posters!!!
