Barometer
A device that measures atmospheric (air) pressure.
Because air is thinner at higher elevations, a barometer can provide a rough measurement of altitude (distance above sea level).
Atmospheric pressure also varies with changes in weather, and thus can be used as one signal assisting weather forecasts.
